Well on Sat we went to pickup the new lad. It was all very sad and I could see how hard it was for his owner. :(
He loaded and travelled like a star and was so chilled when we arrived. I tied him to the side of the lorry while we unloaded everything then we put him out in the paddock next to the horrid one. He just put his head down and started grazing. You would have thought he had lived here all his life. Eventualy he went over to say hello to Herbs. Herbie squiled afew times and ponsed up and down the fence line. Merryn just stood there looking at him wondering what on earth he was doing. Then he just got back to the important task of grazing. :p I left him on Sat to settle in. Sunday morning all was still well when I went to see him and put his muzzle on. But at lunchtime when I went to check him I discovered he had taken his muzzel off  It was on the fence between his paddock and Herbs so I do wonder if he had had alittle help in removing it  I put it back on and he stood there looking very un impressed.
In the afternoon I got him in and lunged him. He was fab. He trotted when I asked him to and didn't argue once :p :D :D.
This morning I took him for a ride in the forest. He was a bit lookie at first and snorted at afew things but that was it. No spooking, napping, rearing, bucking, just a nice pleasent ride  He didn't even bat an eyelid at the wild ponies. :) It's so nice to have a pony who doesn't have behavoural issues (Shhhhh don't tell horrid I said that ;) :p He was amazing when I hacked him out today to :D :D )
Anyway as promised here are some pics of Merryn.

Sorry the photos arn't that good but it was raining all weekend. I'll try to get some better ones when I have more time and the weathers nicer. :)
Please no rude comments about how Fat he is I'm fully aware of this fact and was before I took him on.
Thankyou for looking

A nice looking lad :D

I'm sure he will soon lose the extra weight :D :D. We have the same issue with LC (he ballooned when he got back from the vets!). D1 now plays with him in the school every day - it's funny :D

what a sweetie :) Glad to hear he's settled so well! looks like he will be the perfect type for the OH's kiddies too :) Herbs as ever looking adorable :)

Thankyou everyone.

Suzie86 I think he will be perfect for the kids his so calm and gentle. Everyone keeps laughing though because the kids have a bigger pony than I do :( They all say it should be the other way round and I should have the 14.1hh and they should have the 12.2hh :(.
I don't realy care though Herbs is still the best pony ever and now he's mine all mine mwhahahahaha ;) :p :D :D :D
Hows your little lad doing?

Hello Merryn! I think he looks rather nice :) Glad you had a good ride on him today, what a good boy.

Eeek forgot to say........ Hello Herbs, looking as handsome as ever I see!

Hi Merryn - I hope you know what a lovely home you have arrived at!

Handsome lad, I hope you all have fun together.

Oh, and thanks for the pic of Herbs, Merryn is lovely, but my heart belongs to Herbie!

Hows your little lad doing?

He's doing so well thank you - he is learning party tricks at the moment like how to work in an outline in walk and trot and actually go properly instead of charging along at top speed :) leg yield and turn on the forehand/haunches and rein back. So he is rather pleased with himself and loves showing off!! He has also learnt to canter over a pole now so we may be able to canter over a teeny jump soon instead of trotting over them which i hate!! He is VERY FLUFFY like a bear although keeps coming in plastered in mud so I think I will treat him to a lightweight from HOYS this weekend so I dont have to spend HOURS grooming every day!!!!! Getting more and more atttached!AAAAAAAAAAARGH he needs to go I can see it being very emotional already and will only get worse!! Non horsey bf rode him yesterday (hilarious - feet below knees!) and is VERY attached :) :)

I want to take him to a show now - his twin did soooo well that surely he will too?!?!?!? ;)

Bless him. Glad to hear he's doing well. :)
I hate selling ponies on. Last summer I bought a sec A to break in and sell on. I ended up keeping him a year and sold him this summer. I was so sad to sell him :( But he was only 11hh and was nowhere near as chunky as Herbs so there was no way I could have kept him. Infact the origonal idea with Herbs was to sell him on and buy something abit more quality (shhhhh don't tell him ;) ) He's now staying. I couldn't sell him on.
It's actualy a family joke about me selling horses on. Lucy was bought to sell on and get something bigger but I ended up keeping her. I did advertise her once :o but when someone phoned up I put them off, I kept saying "Oh you can't do that with her" "she wouldn't like that" My mum was wetting herself with laughter. :D :D

And I bet he'd do very well at a show you should take him. He'll love it :D :D
