Head Teacher of the school came down last week to look at the damage caused by pupil's to Bean's neck. We now KNOW it was pupils from CCTV, although have no idea which pupils

Bean is fine, but has been left with a scar from the glass which was used to cut him, purposely.
Following on from my previous posts about this, the head teacher was asked to come and assess what the pupils had done.
She was 20minutes late, she got out of her car stating that "she hoped this would not take long as she is a busy woman and quite frankly this is a drain of her time."
She was very rude, didn't understand the implications at all (despite apparently owning a horse) and was quite uninterested by the whole thing. She summed the yard owner up as a woman who is of privieged stance and can therefore afford the vets fees- more or less her exact words. We had YO's nephew with us who was quietly stewing in the corner, and just as the head teacher was about to leave, he introduced himself as a barrister, after whichshe quietly sh*t her pants.
The case is now going to court, we have quite a good case againbst the school by way of police statements, CCTV, and five of us in the company of the head teacher when she was so uninterested by the whole thing.

On a different note- why ANY children/teens/humans can gain pleasure or happiness from taking glass to a horse with the intention of causing that horse harm is completely incomprehensible to myself. I worry about what people like that will turn into and what kind of upbringing would ever make them into such sick kids.

One of our lambs was taken out of the field not so long ago - we found it the next morning beaten to death, hanging from a tree

If this is what the human race has to offer god help us all.

I hope you kick their ass in court - good luck

I never read the original post- but this is shocking!!! truely shocking- and that head is not a good role model for that school. If she acts like that no wonder the kids are naughty!

Unbelievable! I think you should quietly alert the local press when it goes to court so that the name of her cr*ppy school is plastered all over the media.

I don't know what to say about it all to be honest.
The glass and scissors deliberately stuck in the ground were enough to turn your stomach when you think of what could have happened, but this is on another level.
From the view of YO and Bertie's owner, they come from a completely different generation so are completely upset by what has happened, and just cannot understand why or how.
If we had done anything like that at QMs we would have been kicked out so fast our feet wouldn't touch the ground.
But then again we wouldn't have ever dared to go against the rules so badly. The head teacher obviously doesn't command much respect from her pupils.

What did they do to the horse??Is all ok now, sorry i missed the post which it was on.

Hope you catch the t*ats that did this.

I think you're lucky that you have such strong evidence. I should think most people who this sort of thing happens to don't find out who did it, or indeed why. I hope you win the case, fingers crossed.

Nor could I, and the youngsters involved need a bloody good hiding - something they have probably never had in their lives so far, hence their complete disregard for not only a living, breathing sentient being, but also, someone elses property! I bet their parents(and their head mistress) would be pretty p***ed off if someone went and hammered a hole in their car!!!

These kids, whilst in the care and command of this heinous woman......... are her responsibility .

If you broke into school and terrorised the school hamster i'm sure she would be taking a different stance....

Why is it that horses in a field are seen as fair game??

Barstewards.

I'm dismayed that a Head Teacher could be so apathetic as to the behaviour of her pupils.

When I was at school our head teacher was outraged if he caught pupils from OTHER schools committing crimes. None of us would ever have considered such appalling crimes anyway, but even if we had, the thought of him pulling us by the ears to his office would have made us think twice (something he used to do and at 6'7", he could get quite some leverage).

that is horrible i have no idea what is happening with kids today if any of mine did such a thing i would be devastated.

just out of curiosity did she recognise any of the kids?? bet she did....

hope the animals involved are ok keep us posted
x

That head teacher should be suspended end of. If she cares that little about pupils or indeed welfare of animals (she clearly couldn't care less and just saw it as a waste of her time) she should not be in a position of authority AT ALL.

She should be horrified, disgusted and upset not to mention embarrassed that any pupil of her school could act this way. Every other normal human being would be.

There seem to be far too many incidents of intentionally cruelty against animals these days I often just feel despair. I think kids do not have any respect for authority these days and are not disciplined enough at home or school. Sadly much of the discipline teachers USED to have was taken away and the law seems to be on the side of unruly/horrid kids the majority fo the time. If the decent teachers got the discipline rights back (which I understand is the next proposal from the 'genius' government who took it way in the first place1) the maybe kids would learn some sort of respect!

Sorry, ranted a bit there - just makes me so angry and upset. I hope you win your case, the culprits are caught and adequate punishment is dealt out!

As for the incident with the lamb - what kind of people are these?!!! They should be shot.

Really really angry to read this, we have problems with our fields from time to time so I fully understand the frustration, at least you have cctv so you can hopefully do something about it, lets hope the judge isn't a halfwit like the headteacher when you get to court.

This country has [****] breeding [****] and non of it has any respect for anyone or anything whether it be parents teachers police or even themselves, the future isn't very bright for this country.

sorry can you just clear up for me, is this occurring during school hours? ie at lunchtime so therefore the school has some responsibility and the kids are probably 'technically' not allowed off the premises - not that that works round here.

Not quite the same, but our carpark at work is near a school playing field, there is a narrow road, on our site, grass and trees then the school fence. The little dears chucked small lumps of concrete over the fence at the cars, wrote off a brand new car, seemed to be the one they were targeting and damaged the two either side. The head teacher couldn't have been less interested, till the Police went round. One kid got a warning the other two got away with it as they had a clean police record.

I find it shocking that the head mistress as a horse owner showed no interest or remorse on the attack on your horse by her pupils.

I wish you every luck with the court case.

Once the court case is over I would contact the chief education officer of the area and make them aware of what happened and advise them that she should no longer be employed by them if that is her attitude. I would also contact the local newspapers, radio and tv.

I second what Forester says about writing a letter to the School Goveners and Education authority, and do it whilst you are waiting to get it to court which could take months. Also as PeterNatt says go to the newspapers.
I presume you have had a rather large vet bill for his treatment, in your letter to the goveners try to get re embursted for it. Good Luck.
At the school I went to (many years ago) there would of been a full school assembley and the matter would of been addressed to the whole school as a very serious matter with disaplinary concequences to follow, some one would of then grassed on said offenders.

So who the hell paid for the damage then ?

Children today are nothing more than little monsters

I found some on our farm playing in a copse, I asked them to leave (politely) as it was our pet cemetary

A few days later I found parts of my recent buried labrador scattered all over - they moved 5 heavy concrete blocks and dug him up. I was so shocked and sickened they'd do this.

I have no faith in parents or the education system. About time kids learned healthy respect of people.

I am surprised this head teacher did not care. Even if she does not care for the horses. I would be concerned about any kids who would torture an animal -I can't imagine they would grow up as well adjusted adults with empathy for others, unless someone intervened. Apparently there is also some connection between children being abused themselves and inflicting abuse.

How absolutely dreadful for you, I despair that people can do such things.

I used to deal with complaints at an LEA - lucky me.
crazy.gif

No need to copy to the LEA at this stage, they can't do anything until the school governors have considered the complaint. Ring the school and ask for a copy of their complaints policy and follow it. It will have the process and timescales to follow. You may want to consider what action you want to be taken against the headteacher, or relating to the incident. When you are not satisfied with their response (as I'm sure you won't be), then you go to stage II and contact the LEA.
I am guessing that the headteacher will have to view the CCTV footage with the police and help in identifying the culprits.

I'm sorry, I am shocked at this story but that is a very sweeping statement. My children are both respectful and would never behave like that and it's a shame that the actions of some deranged minority would lead people to think that "all children are monsters"
