Well.... it says it all that I have a list of the hotspots, doesn't it!
His hocks are fine, but he seems to have a subchondral bone cysts in the region of his right stifle. Vet thinks this is unlikely to have any bearing on his lameness as it is something that will have been peesent since he was around 3 years old.
His back.... his sacro-iliac joint is well out of alignment, and he had significant hotspot in his thoracic AND lumbar spine - his vertebrae aren't alinged as they should be, but the vet was reluctant to be pinned down and utter the words 'kissing spines' until he has been x-rayed.

Don't know more until my vet has seen the images, as he will talk to me in depth about it, but x-rays will be booked tomorrow.

TBH, not sure how I should feel

Merlin had a bone scan and I had a list of hot spots too...

All four pedal bones were showing as hotspots... no treatment needed.

Hocks both showing and now treated..

Wither showing hotspots...no treatment needed.

Fetlock glowing like a beacon...... already treated and sound since.

Sacro Illiac (sp) showing hotspot.... prob due to the one fetlock being sore.

And was told the stifles are very difficult to diagnose for some reason..... his looked like hotspots but were not

Merlin has been sound and in work for just about all of the time since he started treatment..... so hopefully no need to panic yet

Thanks for the vibes U_H, and for the positive slant MQ!

On reflection I think it may not be as bad as it seems, it could well be that his SI/Pelvis is throwing the rest of his spinal column out of kilter?
He doesn't present with any typical KS symptoms anyway, which would make me very surprised if x-rays showed that they were the problem!

Hi there Bounty,
Just shows that you were right all along to think something was wrong. Fingers crossed for the vet's verdict, let us know how it goes. Ron should be having his scan now... I've no idea what I'm going to do all weekend, I can't visit him til Sunday! Try not to worry.
