Well we survived Holdenby (dressage a respectable (for us) 39.5, 1 show jump down, clear XC) so that is the BE season officially finished for us. Horse and rider both in one piece with 21 weeks to go until we start all over again at Isleham in March - at least that is the plan.

So feeling reflective now...

High points of the season - India going clear XC in her first Novice at Goring and Lexi successfully making the step up to PN.

Low points - getting a 52.5 dressage on Lexi at Purston (breaking the family record for an all time low) and obviously India's injury.

Thing we are looking forward to - not having to get up and exercise horses before work to keep their fitness up, teaching Merry to jump, getting Lexi's show jumping up to BE Novice level ready for next year and best of all, India's baby next May (fingers crossed).

Anyone else?

Let's hope it is not quite so cold at Isleham next year!

Lexi has come on so much and i'm looking forward to seeing pics of the new baby.

Hope to see you at some of the indoor stuff at Keysoe over the winter, you can meet Jasper too.

Well done hun

the ginger assasin has excelled herself yet again and put a great performance at her last event!

When you look at it only being 21 weeks away until we start all over again

Planning to start BSJA this weekend, compete over the winter and try and qualify for something....and then go to Stilemans hopefully upgrading to Novice at our second event (if the SJing has improved). I think we will compete until May and then stick to SJing again over the summer.

I am so pleased for you and the ginger one, and next year is going to be mighty exciting with Merry and Indias babe

You will definitely be seeing us at Keysoe this winter (doing relentless circles until Lex gives in and becomes a dressage queen!).

In fact we will be there in a couple of weeks for the indoor eventer trial. Thought we might have a go at the Novice jumping too if she goes well in the PN class....

Im going to be at Keysoe doing the indoor arena horse trials, there si much fun. Think we will start with the small class, then move to the 3ft, the number of jumps they fit in is quiet amazing.

Last year I got eliminated as I jumped the wrong jump, then on another occasion I neally fell off and was left hanging round Williams tummy lol!

I was also groom at Holdenby on Sunday, lovely venue, I hope to take my little chap to do the intro next year.

Yes, we did one of the indoor eventer trials last year - remembering the course is a nightmare!

Lexi got a refusal because I got lost and had to circle!

Will probably see you there - PM me your number when you get it so we can look out for each other.

Will do, not sure Im going to make it to the October one but will be there in November.

Did you get any piccies from Holdenby that I can see, which day were you there?

I was at the unaffiliated with my boy this weekend

We went round the intro track, managed a 36.5 dressage, clear sj but got 9 time faults, I managed to go along way round

and he flew round the xc, not bad for a ickle 14.1 pony

We came 7th but they only did rosettes to 6th, think thats a bit tight for a ODE, and without the time faults sj we would of been 2nd

Can't believe it is only 21 weeks. Debating whether to re-register. Will aim to do some in April and May then forget about eventing and go sj and dressage on good surfaces during the height of the summer and if the ground is right do some of the September/October events.

I thought the standard in the whole section was really high.

The show jumping course in particular was far from simple because there were some quite demanding lines complicated by the sloping ground. I would have expected a lot more people to have problems there than actually did.

The XC was straightforward which doesn't go in Lexi's favour - her dressage is poor but she is a star XC and always does better when the course is influential.

Still for the top 11 riders all to be on scores of 35 or less is amazing and I don't think it was a case of soft dressage judging.

We didn't do Keysoe this autumn because the ground there can be hard (although I'm sure it was fine since we have had all this rain).

We are working on the same lines - same plan as this year really - big start to the season with lots in March / April / May and perhaps something in June.

She can then have a bit of a holiday through the summer and I will get her back up and fit for late Sept / Oct.

Seems to have worked for us this year.
