linking cos some people are on there, feel free to bump it :p

Now we're in the regulation Thursday Afternoon window... what's everyone ELSE up to?

Quiet one here. I'm taking Darcy on a little ride in the lorry this afternoon with a view to getting him out and about in a very low key way soon.
Yard social outing on Saturday lunchtime
Writing for the Medium class at Hartpury Area Festival on Monday.
Setting up tiny turnout pens for K and haymaking duties in between times :)

Have fun everyone :)

Happy Millieface to start the thread off, she had the dentist this morning as we are catching up with the horse-admin while she's on the yard ;)

Sounds like you’ve got a busy weekend planned!

We have friends visiting with their dog so lots of dog walks on the agenda.

On Monday I’m taking Magic to clear round SJ. It will be our first “proper” jumping outing- she’s brilliant though so I don’t need to stress!

Checking out the forum from Las Vegas! No horses here but off to Montana for a week on a ranch from this weekend. So this week is indoor play (it’s bonkers hot), with amazing food, drink and air con. Next week will be the opposite - rustic, outdoorsy and active.

I’ve brought my dressage test with me though to learn as I’ve entered a ode the weekend we’re back!

Timbobs - is that pic from south ox sponsored ride? I recognise the house and photo set up. Entered for this year’s ride, it’s one of my favourites.

No, it’s from the Wellington Estate ride a few weeks ago! :)

Enjoy South Ox!

Coal face today and tomorrow...
Hacking on Saturday, not sure if I'll be needed as wingman for someone or not. Hoping I can enjoy a solo hack :)
Sunday poss clear round SJ in the afternoon, might up the anti and instead of competing against 6 yr olds, go against the 10 yr olds instead! Then later afternoon to join RC people to coursebuild for Monday.
RC show Monday, entered just in hand & ridden, but its not till the afternoon, so might swerve it.

Good luck to those competing, have fun those who are not :)

I'm heading off to county Kildare for a 2 day clinic with equitopia. A mix of bodywork, groundwork, saddle check, dismounted workshop and riding. Very much looking forward to it. I'll be up at 4am to try and get there for 8-8.30, my first session is at 9.30 but I would like to be there for the start if I can

Both horses are off work, so borrowing a friends horse for a hack. Have the choice of the super sweet but very green Highland or the feisty but unspooky hunter!

You should have a look, there's a few equestrian complexes in Vegas https://southpointarena.com/events and last week was the run for a million reining championship https://www.trfam.com/#/

F and I are both entered in a WH show on Saturday, on Sunday we are going for a ride in the forest (getting fitter for our 32km), and then on Monday we have a charity SJ show.

Busy busy...

That's what I will be like at our charity show on Monday 🤣🤣 and the under 10 70-80cm kids are fast against the clock 😱😱

Lots of exciting plans! Good luck with the competing Fiona, TFF. I am envious of Montana, Bernster! Hope everyone else has fun... @Wheels say hi to my saddler, you'll creep her out :p

Other than hacking with Ester, and see these new jodhs - hurrah! - my plans are limited. I was out yesterday though, shooting (as usual, at the moment!). Wasn't very impressed with the venue shunting us out of their nice arena onto a bit of field because they'd basically double booked, and I was having a right wobble about it because they were shooting close by and I tend to forget that Skye doesn't care about that at all (fergs would've turned himself inside out!).

Fortunately legend-coach was typically legendary and has an excellent line in ignoring me being an idiot and making me get on with it (kindly - he picks his battles!). He comes with a nice range of idiot-appropriate exercises / plans to help sort out issues, so that we can work on stuff even when I'm being really lame about life, and - while it's not perfect - I do feel like there's progress with her confidence / happiness about stuff every time I see him. And he's an endless source of positivity about things too, which helps!

(I should add, I'm probably making this sound worse than it is - it's a pretty trivial issue by all accounts and not a big deal - she's slightly reactive to weight movement and certain angles of shots, which is fairly normal, and understandable. I'm just a bit melodramatic!)

Dressage on Saturday. Have had a rough week with my SI joint so I’m high as a kite on painkillers but I’m still planning on going.
I’m definitely not riding my best though, so I’m not expecting anything wonderful. Bless Millie tonight, I kept losing my stirrups in canter because my lower back kept spasming. She must have thought I was being a right muppet up there but she just carried on. She’s a good girl.

There is a Boot Barn in Vegas - it sells EVERYTHING! I have some awesome jeans from there that are designed for riding cowboy style. Ariat stuff is also half the price there than it is here!

I love Vegas ...

Home from Talland tomorrow evening, I’ve loved it although Pammy is totally terrifying!! So will hopefully ride Teddy Saturday and Monday as I’m working Sunday. Can’t wait to try some new stuff with both boys. Need to trim Harry up too as he has PC regionals for dressage next Friday 😬

Love it! I should have realised. Not sure the OH would be chuffed if I turn this part of the hols into an equine fiesta too. Haha. But then again we could get him a cowboy hat.

I'm at Llanymynech for an 80T on Saturday with the big lad.

I'm thinking of taking the little man around Kelsall farm ride at some point this weekend. He feels fit enough now, and I need to brave the risk of being overtaken if I want to take him on fun rides this autumn, which I hope to do 😊

Looking like we could have a good weekend at Llanymynech. Amazing what a difference a wk makes! Hope you have a great day, we're there Sat & Sun as find it easier going 2 days with one horse on each. Rerouted one from Somerford as she is v ready for another run & Llany is such a lovely event & about our closest.

Hope everyone has fun this wkend whatever you're doing!

We’ve had a busy few days. took a couple to Morris to jump round on Tuesday then had what could be one of my last lessons with my lovely dressage trainer yesterday as she’s in the process of moving back home to France. 😕

Raz is starting the get the hang of his changes so have tentatively pencilled in our first AM for November/December time. Need to sort a new trainer out if we’re going to keep on top of things.

Blue has a lesson with at the posh new yard up the road this morning as my usual trainer is away on holiday, and then I’m taking him and Fleur to BS tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone competing

The only horse related thing I'm up to is cleaning my trailer, it needs doing and I have the time as new boy is off games with a bone chip in his hock. Vet out again today to discuss plan of action after nerve blocks to be 100% that is causing the swelling (pretty sure it is).

Good luck to everyone out competing!

Cross country schooling tomorrow hopefully if the weather stays dry! RC dressage comp on Monday, doing our first long arena test arhhh! I think we'll actually enjoy it more than the short ones once I've been and done it and know its fine :D

My main horse has been back in work this week after a month off she has fitness training tonight cantering on the hills, travelling out for a schooling lesson tomorrow afternoon on my 5yo (it's going to be hot!), more fitness training Sunday early morning and the 5yo's first ever xc schooling session Monday - fully preparing myself to get ditched at least once.

Only one, maybe two more low-key competitions planned for us for the rest of the year so it's nice to relax a bit and take the pressure off the girls for a while and just concentrate on the training :D

Jumping lesson tomorrow; might go to a comp on Monday. It’s only CR, it’s on grass and it’s a huge showing show with a dog show as well so I might not bother!

Not too much this weekend as it's going to be a hot one here but hoping to box up for a hack on Sunday and potentially head to a farm ride on Monday :)

Working horses at home tomorrow and then Henry and I have a dressage and SJ comp on Sunday. Should be good to brush up on a few things. Hubby is off sj judging this weekend so me and the animals get to hang out together!

sounds like there are loads of plans, have fun all!
