The dentist is coming today and previously I have always used the vet to do our horses teeth as our mare needs sedating (mainly as the vet has no patience?) A friend recommended a dentist who is very good who gets the horse nice and quiet so they do not need sedating, but he was unavailable and passed me on to someone else, I have heard she's a very good dentist but I just found an advert for her and it says qualified vet able to sedate. How safe is it to sedate a mare with a two month foal at foot, I has seen her sedated before and I dont like it so would rather she didn't have to, but she isn't coming til 4 and has two others to do first, will she want to spend the time with her?Sorry to waffle!
