... Are you from a 'horsey' family?
confused.gif

I have two big Sisters, neither or which are horsey or outdoorsy (sp) and here I am out and about with my 2 in all weathers, looking glam all the time (not !

) .... my Mother was an indoor person, but my Dad is out and about all the time, in all weathers
grin.gif
.... but not horsey at all ....

So are you the only horsey one in your family?

My mum used to be a riding instructor and my sister used to do a lot of showing, now neither of them show any interest in horses.

My sister probably doesn't even know my horses names but my mum will look after my 3 when I'm away, she isn't very confident around them though

My mum and dad are not horsey at all.My mum is scared of them whereas my dad isn't interested but quite fond of my girl as she is so friendly and a real peoples horse.I can catch him giving a good stroke and a brush. So no my familiy is not horsey there is just me and my sister.

I am! Seahorse I think I'd probably beat you hehe! My grandad thinks horses are made for dog meat; when he sed this he got the biggest mouthful hes heard in a long time. I think he regretted it :O

I'm the only horsey one in my immediate family - I have distant aunts who have ponies, and my cousins like horses and used to take riding lessons, but of the family I live with I am the only one. Mum's scared of them, and Dad fancies himself as the next Frankie Dettori (sp) despite not having ridden more than twice in the last 20 years - I won't let him on Scooby again now because last time he fell off and I don't want him to break his neck!

Sister just isn't interested at all.

My family not horsey at all! But my Mum comes with me to all our comps and gives much needed moral support and cups of tea, and loves her horsey grandchildren.

And to be honest, they love her right back.

Me and my sister both learnt to ride at the same time, and both have horses so pretty horsy
smile.gif
dad learnt to ride after us and now also rides. My mum HATES/Is very scared of horses

My Uncle/Grandpa own racehorses but neither can ride.

He, he, love seeing my name!

Yes me and Gina are from a horsey family, we had ponies when we were kids and my Mum has always ridden (Dad has always fixed fences, horse boxes, driven tractors etc).

However we do have another sister who doesn’t have the slightest interest in horses, she was always into dancing and make-up, she now has kids. Very different from me and G.

My mum took me and my brother for pony rides when we were little. My brother wasnt interested at all. My mum hasnt had any proper instruction but can walk/trot/canter/gallop on hacks as long as the horse follows the one in front. When I was 6 I started having a lesson every week and she paid for it. I'm the only horsey one in my family. My Grandma loves horses and has a little racing bet quite often but she has never ridden before.

I wish my family was more horsey. I probably would have been allowed a pony as a child if they were. I was always jealous of the pony club riders in my lessons with their own ponies!

In my immediate family I'm the only horsey one, but my cousin has an equestrian business and my nephews are quickly getting the bug (I've been training them!). Mum is beginning to be very slightly horsey in that she'll put Genie to bed or even muck out if I'm in a real bind. Recently she's mentioned getting on and riding... not too sure if she will though at 68 with two false knees...

Hello
smile.gif
yes foots a lot better thank you, got a boot thing on until next week but it's a lot less painful. I've been resting it and my friend has been looking after Axey for me since last wednesday. Got a competition on saturday and really want to go to it so I'll be up there riding this week xx
How are your boys?

My family have no interest in horses, so neither did I until I met my husband. He bought me my first horse as a wedding present, and although until his gelding died, horses were always classed as his or mine, or the childrens, we both helped each other.

I'm the only one from my siblings that like horses but apart from that they run in my family - the ones that didn't have stud farms or work with horses were in teh cavalry lol

nope-my sister isn't at all, my parents are outdoorsy and willing to give me a hand crewing at events and now and again on the yard but they're not horsey in the slightest!

My mum rode from when she was a teenager up until she had my sister 13 years ago, She had a few nasty accidents though, including one in particular onto the road. She comes up to the yard occasionaly and will give S a brush and a pat and do his haynets. She has ridden out with me a few times but has lost a lot of confidence.
My dad was bought up on an estate in Somerset where his dad was estate manager so he has always been around horses. The majority of his girlfriends have been horsy etc ( he and mum are divorced) He will come down to the yard with me and drives the trailer and rides out with me if I've got more than one to ride. He has also watched enough of my lessons to know vaguley what I should be doing when I ride and so is a pretty useful pair of eyes to have on the ground just to point out little things such a stirrups, and whether he should be going more foward into a fence etc. I am going to buy him something to hunt when he retires so that I can event it as well
grin.gif

My sister is slightly horsy, but to be honest she is much more into her dogs/dog agility. My aunt events as does my uncle and my grandparents (dads side) love the hunting.

Hello to you 'Linafellini' from the 'Ukraine'

.... what an eclectic mix we are

My Dad and I do the horses together, we also shoot together, so fairly outdoorsy I'd say.

Mum likes to stroke the horses occasionally, and bakes for shooting days.

My sister did ride a bit, but is allergic to horses, and now prefers cheerleading, poledancing etc.
