A couple of weeks ago we went to view a horse for OH. Was slightly further afield than we'll normally go (due to past wasted trips) and would mean a 5 hour round trip. But i'd asked everything we needed to know and seen video so we decided was worth while.
Got there, everything all good. Seen her ridden then OH rode in the school and took her for a short hack then i had a quick try in the school when he got back. We agreed would get back to the seller when we got back and would chat about it on the journey home. So we chatted and OH liked her so later that evening he agreed price with the seller and said would arrange vetting (which seller had said was fine and given us days she could do) and come back to her with day/time. Got a text on the Monday asking if we had sorted vetting, OH replied and said all organised for the Thursday, just had to ring the vet back with the sellers home address as they said they needed that along with the yard address. Then nothing!! No answer to texts/calls and emailed on the very slim chance was a problem with her phone - nothing!!!! Had to call the vets and cancel Wednesday lunch time otherwise we'd have been charged for the vetting. I text one last time and said hope everything was ok but if she'd decided for whatever reason not to sell to us could she just let us know one way or the other. Never heard anything back!! The ads were then pulled that day too so can only presume that someone bought that didn't want a vetting.
I was really annoyed about it initially, but now think that they clearly had something to hide so at least all we wasted was a day and not money for vetting too. But it does annoy me that there seem to be less and less genuine people out there. If you've got the balls to screw someone over then at least have the balls to tell them too!!!
Anyone else had this happen?
