I currently have a 15.2 grey TB who will shortly be 14. He's an ex-racer, closely related to Danzig, Mansingh and Petong. Ran around 20races but was not too good!! Anyway he's a great all rounder, Novice/Elementary dressage (will affiliate within the next few weeks) and is affiliated BSJA Newcomers with £200+ on him. No vices, sweet natured but grumpy in stable - pulls faces does not bite though.
In Summer I am planning on getting a young show jumper. Not too fussed, around 16.2, between 6 and 8. Ideally jumping Foxhunter but would love to do 1.25 and 1.30 tracks within a year of buying. Warmblood or TB preferably.
My plan is to sell my current horse with all his rugs and tack (his saddle was £1000 and mint condition but fitted to him as he has high withers, and all his rugs are top qaulity mark todd etc perfect condition, and he has about 10!)
I am aware that the new horse will cost a fair bit. Plan is to put £ from current horse towards horse no.2 and I am very lucky in that my dad will help me financially for the excess amount for horse no.2. I was expecting £8-10K for horse no.2 not including tack.
My question is, how much would I be looking to sell current horse for, to sell with or without tack (would I lose money selling with?) and how much I should expect to pay for the new horse.
It is a huge choice to make so any help or advice, positive or negative will really help me. You can see my current horse if you click the link (I hope?!) [image]http://www.bebo.com/PhotoAlbumBig.jsp?MemberId=1875698848&PhotoAlbumId=2129686154&PhotoId=4305719525[/image]
