I have got lots of tack, bits etc that I no longer need and am planning to have a bit of a sort out this weekend and decide what I want to sell.

The question is what is the best way to go about this? Is using ebay the best way to sell bits and pieces? I have never sold through ebay before and am a bit clueless. Do I need to list each item individually, how do I know how much to charge for postage, etc?

Any tips greatly received

i use ebay all the time. horsey stuff seems to go very quickly! u can list items individually but offer a postage discount if someone buys more from you. as for cost of posatge, a pair of kitchen scales and the royal mail website gives u a good idea!! good luck. let us know what ur nickname is so we can see if u've got anything we might want!!

Unless you want to take each item to the postoffice and get a rough price on each item for postage costs then id look up on ebay and see. I.e if you had a pair of stirrups to sell, look up stirrups and see what the average postage is and use that price.

As for the listings, yes, you list them seperatly, unless you want to sell it all as a job lot and then you can have pick up only. Up to you, when ever you do the listing make sure it ends at a weekend or of an evening, when people are at home!

I find its the best place to sell horsey bits and bobs. Good luck.

I've sold lots of horsey stuff on ebay. The help section of ebay is quite good if you are doing it for the first time, and the user forums (under the Community button) have lots of handy tips.

I've sold loads of stuff on ebay and the horsey stuff always seems to go veeeery quickly! I've found that starting things off at 99p is best, as the value goes up fairly quickly, but when I've listed them for more theres very little interest!
In terms of postage, I printed out the weights and costs for 1st class mail and just used our ordinary scales! With rugs and stuff I always put it a bit more just in case, and it uses loads of packaging!!
