My beloved horse has come down with laminitis over night and is showing huge distress. Please send healing vibes that she recovers quickly from this as I'd always said I'd never put her through it again after the last bout 4 years ago ? just sat in the stable with her whilst awaiting the emergency vet

Thank you all so much, She's had some bute but it's not touched it. She's got deep heave lines and is dripping in sweat. She went down and didn't get up for 30 mins but now up and very fidgety trying to adjust her weight. Will hopefully have a better idea in a few hours what prognosis will be x

It's so awful. Fingers crossed the vet has been able to help-my vet sometimes uses a shot of some magic super strength painkiller/anti inflammatory which makes a huge difference ????

Good evening all
Sadly it wasn't meant to be and my 1 in a million pony has crossed rainbow Bridge. She had laminitis in all 4 feet and went down with a very severe colic due to the pain. The vet came at 6pm and I said my final goodbye .
I had always said if she got laminitis again I would say goodbye as she had been so faithful and loving to me it was only fair I returned the favour.
It was the hardest decision I've ever had to make but I take comfort from the knowledge that she is no longer in pain.
