Is anyone on here a member of sh*teventers on facebook?

absolutely makes my day this group, I love the camaraderie and it’s wonderful to see it go tits up (not just showing everyone the good bits) and everyone have a good laugh about it.

did I stay or did I go is a common theme...

I think it’s brilliant. Everyone is so supportive, it really seems bring out the best in people rather than the usual vitriol spewing that goes on online.

Yes it's good. I found one and in the audio you can hear the person saying 'no, nope, not doing it, I give up' etc. and it was reassuring to me as that's exactly how I felt in my last couple of lessons!

When I feel disheartened coming away with disastrous results, without a frilly, horse goes on like it’s got a hot poker up it’s arse, I remember....it’s all part of the journey!

i left because i got sick to death of riders presenting sore, sour horses badly and crooked to the fences then blaming the horses every single time.

i found a lot of bad horsemanship being paraded and if you didnt laugh you got abuse.

I've noticed that too. I'm in 2 minds about it at the moment but most recently theres seemed less of that

Me three but I didnt want to be the "fun sponge" on this thread. Happy to ride someone else's coat tails though!

I know we all have misses but I dont think they are something to be "celebrated" in the way that they are on that page.

There are plenty of supportive groups who don't whoop at a horses back teeth being taken out (whilst said mouth is fixed shut).

Again I understand that *things* happen but there are many repeat "offenders" doing the same things.

I know in a different "supportive" group if anyone pointed out that there was work/improvement needed they were shot down for not being solely encouraging and congratulatory. I didnt hang about this page long enough to see how pointing out the obvious was taken but the whole ethos of the page made me deeply uncomfortable

The odd miss happens to the best and certainly I have no issue with an embarrassed giggle about it.

But ongoing mishaps with uncomfortable looking horses. Nothing to be proud of.

I've not seen any on-going issues on the group, just people posting the odd mishaps and most people apologizing to their horses? Maybe there were older posts, I've only been on it a couple of months?

The group states: for all the cr*p eventers out there! we want your event reports about how bad your day went! no more "event reports" like " biggles and I would have been selected for the Europeans if we hadn't have had that pole in the 80" "an unlucky run out cost us the win" etc etc. no "unlucky poles" here! hands up if you need to sack the jockey ?‍?‍?‍ hands up if you cringe at the thought of returning to your livery yard and telling everyone you screwed up!! ?‍ here we own our sh*tness because we are mere mortals. and no I dont own the next Milton or Vanir Kamira if only I could ride her... hands up if some days you cant ride a swinging gate! share your cr*pness here without judgement ???? no need to feel bad about it!!! we are all sh*t deep down hahahshaaa!

I think most people are trying their best and sometimes we're not all perfect riders who get it right 100% of the time, it's nice to see a group that doesn't pretend it's always perfect. Hey ho, I'm glad I could post some funny outtakes without being ripped to shreds for my awful riding, and yes there is a reason I posted them on there and not here...
