A little update for anyone who’s interested. There isn’t a bad word I can say about him, he has exceeded my expectations in every way and is honestly an angel. Easier, more loving & better breaks than my Connie :D
We have a low key Intro test planned for the end of the month to see how he copes with a ‘party’ but I am pretty sure like everything else I’ve throw at him he will be a total dude.
So so so chuffed :)
I have always loved racers and TBs in general but I just don’t know how I could ever own another breed now.
Such a shame that they get a bad rep.
Some recent pics of the handsome chap…
Congratulations to both of you for finding each other! Completely agree with you about ex-racers, they are just the greatest. Enjoy! ?

Just a shameless post really to swoon over my new boy! He’s been with me now for just over 2 weeks. Retired from racing in Aug 2021 and had been enjoying field down time and a tiny bit of hacking with his previous owner.

He’s a big lad out of Galileo, I have heard that his offspring are generally lovely people. Trippy really is the loveliest person. He is an absolute sweet heart, so easy to do, takes everything in his stride and hasn’t put a foot wrong. He’s more horizontal than my little Connie!!

So so chuffed with him, and can’t wait for a future together.

Ex racers are just great aren’t they :)
He's gorgeous, the very best of luck with him.

Here he is with his little big brother;) so glad that they get on :) I must say that Trippy is more thrilled than Rocky ha ha!
Dressage show this Saturday, his schooling is really coming on at home! Hoping for an enjoyable trip out, I’m sure he will do me proud!

Thank ever so much for the lovely comments, I really do think he’s the best thing since sliced bread. I am so happy that he is happy x

Do you keep in contact with his racing yard or any of his previous staff? If not please, please let them know how he is getting on as we do truly want to know! It's great to see them all out doing various things whether it's being the ultimate happy hack or competing in 3day events!
Yes I do :) I have been in touch with the racing secretary at Jonjo O’Neill’s! They have been sent many photos and updates and are thrilled x

Eeekk show update! I am so bloody proud, as if I couldn’t be any prouder!
He came off the lorry quite hot and bothered (10 min drive) he did get himself a little worked up on the way and was on his toes a little when we arrived but nothing silly. We arrived in plenty of time to let him settle :)
I got on him in plenty of time not knowing how he would be to ride end to relax him before our test. He did feel like coiled spring at first :D but he coped really well with the warm up ring and did start to soften and relax.

First show, first time seeing whiteboards etc and he was ever so brave. I held his hand in the hope we could have a positive round with no mega dramas. He really relaxed in the second part of the test, we scored some 7s!! And some 4/5s for tension giving us 59%. With 21 in the class we didn’t place but it wasnt about that! I am so chuffed, he tried his heart out for me. He has so much potential for the future.
Just awaiting photographers pics!!

The big lad looking rather handsome;)

Congratulations so far and what a handsome man you have. I have one of his half brothers-- another Galileo son and they certainly do have lovely characters. Have fun!

Thank you so much :)

I had missed all the updates, just caught up and how lucky are you both to have found each other?
Thank you, I do feel very lucky. I just knew within minutes at the viewing that we would get on like a house on fire. He is an absolute sweetheart.
