The best people don't remain in poorly paid jobs and for the level of responsibilty and high stress that is part and parcel of being a child care social worker, it is a poorly paid job! So you have a group of avarage, some below avarage graduates who are then poorly trained and poorly managed. The blame lies at the feet of the system, not the individual social worker!
