Hi everyone

I don't know if you've seen my posts about my chocolate lab, Daisy & her fibrosarcoma removal.

Anyway, yesterday, armed with lots of suggestions (thanks so much) I attempted to get her to take on some fluids - I squirted a bit of water into her mouth which she DID NOT like! I also boiled her some chicken up, I fed her a few pieces then let her try to get the chunks herself, hoping that she would get some chicken water in the process...result! :D She couldn't help herself from taking a god few laps of it and although I think it was quite painful, and at the risk or sounding cruel, I'm hoping she forgets how much it hurts every time I feed her the stuff and tries to take a drink!

Another fab result is that spoke to Father in Law, who's looking after her while we're at work this week, and he'd taken her on a short walk and she was looking at her water dish when they got back but wouldn't drink so he lifted the bowl & waited and...she had 6 laps of the plain water!!!!! Ta da! :D

I'm hoping that the need for water has overtaken the pain of drinking & we've turned that corner but we're back at the vets this eve so will run it by him too!

Thanks so much for all your suggestions & advice, it's very much appreciated

:):):)

Thanks!

I'm so relieved! Mind you if I know the funny article she'll drink this afternoon & then not again for days & have us worrying again!!!!! Bless her! ;)

Hi Sarah, just caught up with this thread, I saw your original post from when you found the lump. Brilliant news that the vets think they have the whole thing out as I said earlier, Smurph had a mast cell taken out several years ago and he is hale and hearty. If you look at his nose, head on he has a slightly wonky top lip, where it comes down from his nose, where his tumour was removed, but you do have to look closely. So pleased Daisy seems to be recovering well and sounds like she has a very devoted army of attendants catering to her every whim. Will carry on sending vibes for her continued recovery. Its awful when they are ill isnt it, at least children can tell you where they hurt!

MyBoyChe - thanks for the vibes, they're very much appreciated! Yeah, hopefully the vet has got it all, tho we won't know for sure until the pathologist does his stuff.
It's so encouraging to know that your boy has recovered so well & so many years down the line is doing great! Daisy does look different - more of her teeth are exposed but I couldn't care less what she looks like as long as she's healthy & happy - she'll always be the cutest dog in my eyes!!!!!!
It has been terrible since she's been feeling unwell - we've felt so helpless but she's perkier every day so shouldn't be too long until we have our bouncy girl back...fingers crossed anyway!
Thanks so much for keeping up to date and posting :)
