Hi everyone
I don't know if you've seen my posts about my chocolate lab, Daisy & her fibrosarcoma removal.
Anyway, yesterday, armed with lots of suggestions (thanks so much) I attempted to get her to take on some fluids - I squirted a bit of water into her mouth which she DID NOT like! I also boiled her some chicken up, I fed her a few pieces then let her try to get the chunks herself, hoping that she would get some chicken water in the process...result!
She couldn't help herself from taking a god few laps of it and although I think it was quite painful, and at the risk or sounding cruel, I'm hoping she forgets how much it hurts every time I feed her the stuff and tries to take a drink!
Another fab result is that spoke to Father in Law, who's looking after her while we're at work this week, and he'd taken her on a short walk and she was looking at her water dish when they got back but wouldn't drink so he lifted the bowl & waited and...she had 6 laps of the plain water!!!!! Ta da!
I'm hoping that the need for water has overtaken the pain of drinking & we've turned that corner but we're back at the vets this eve so will run it by him too!
Thanks so much for all your suggestions & advice, it's very much appreciated
