Lovely stamp of a horse: bet she was a demon to clean when you first got her?
She's gorgeous
Out of interest, did you clip her out when you got her? Looks from the pics like you clipped feathers - if so, how long did they take to grow back?
Always curious about other people's hairies![]()
She looks great, well done. What is that pad that you have under her saddle in the earlier pic, please?
She's beautiful. Well done yousounds a bit airy fairy I know, but think about clicker training her to have her legs clipped. I find it really useful for strong willed horses that need convincing things are their idea

I think she looks smashing. As to the post of "Visable ribs", where????The first picture you have of her she looks spot on, ok we know she could do with a touch more muscle, that comes with time we all know that but really ribs? The problem is too many people are so used to seeing way too fat horses they can't tell the difference anymore.
Gosh this sounds a bit ranty, it's not honest!
She does look well. Am intrigued by your bit too, not seen that before, what is it? All these questions eh![]()
She is fine for her body, but fairly dangerous to do her legs, shes not nasty to you, but flicks her legs up and is likely to hurt herself or break the clippers, she was sedated for her teeth in March and had a good close shave then, now 3 mths on, they are half grown out, am trying to get her used to it with an electric toothbrush, but failing miserably!!
UUmm how is my post insulting?? I said she looks smashing. Maybe needs a bit of muscle but like i said that comes with time, its not an instant thing. Then just said too many people are used to overweight horses. If you feel i have insulted you or your horse then i'm sorry as i was actually sticking up for you regards the earlier post of visable ribs. Maybe like you said with a winter coat... but i honestly cant see any ribs in the first picture you posted of her after you have given her a bath.
you mare is really gorgeous! Personally I dont think she looks bad when you first got her at all, just very muddy and lacking muscle. Either way she is lovely and she clearly has a lovely home.
Wow, what a difference! I used to loan a rescue mare who also hated to get muddy - it's almost as if they are so happy to be clean and well looked after that they daren't get dirty in case they are left like it again.![]()
