Loan horse has arrived with a Lemieux integrated sheepskin lined girth which I hate because the elastic is way too stretchy and the lining doesn't stay straight.
Owner said he doesn't like a fairfax which is what i have and he needs a longer girth than the one he came with.

So looking for something vaguely horse shaped with sheepskin lining, substantially made and available in a sensible colour in 28".
I would ideally like something like the mattes integrated girths but funds won't stretch that far at the moment. Don't want a cover for a normal girth as they always end up moving about.

Any recommendations?

Did you look for a second hand Mattes? That's how I acquired mine. It was like new.

Sometimes the Horze stuff is decent and on sale, but idk how delivery is for the UK. Calevo has some Mattes on sale and their own brand is a but more affordable. Again, not sure about the UK thing.

yeah i have had a quick look and will make it a long term search if i find that he *genuinely* won't like my fairfax ;)
typical me wants the problem solved immediately, his too-short girth is hurting my eyeballs.
Will check out Calevo. i have had stuff from Reitsport Klawunde recently which arrived fine tho postage was ££££

Not cheap, but 20% off this one, and in UK ( they are lovely girths!)

The first design for Foinavon, the second one for Gypsum. His conformation suits the half-moon shape, but she preferred the straighter one. The good news is that the horses seem to love them. The other good news is that they are a f*ck ton cheaper than similarly padded, anatomically shaped leather ones. The bad news is that they are a b1tch to clean. A leather one can be wiped down in three minutes. These, not so much. I bring them home, shove them into a pillow case, and then subject my washing machine to the pain. But they are made out of merino wool, so they dry quickly.
