So Moodle AKA (Maisey) has become a grown up and completed her first event at Stafford on Friday. :)

We have no left canter yet due to a slightly 'sticky' stifle but she is improving as she becomes fitter but I did know that in a big field at Stafford there would be no chance of getting it!! So we did an ok dressage test.....stayed in the arena, had a wobble on the centre line and nearly a jog in the walk but she was such a good girl and we got a score of 40.

Then onto the SJ where the man in the white box scared her to death and I thought I was a gonna before we'd even jumped!!! Anyway she turned very green, but bearing in mind it is her first competition....ever....we got round with just two poles down......I was a very proud mummy :) :) This is the link to the SJ :)

After the shock of being mounted for the third time...we headed down to the XC where we cleared the practice fence by 5 foot!!! ;) We set off and she decided that she hadn't really seen a xc jump before! I had to really ride each fence and she looked at everything, we trotted into the combination logs as I really wanted to get round clear and by the end of the course she was properly going :) I was worried that she might not be fit enough but she was full of running even at the end :)

As we went through the finish I shouted 'Wooooo' and she neighed at the same time!! How funny bless her :) And a link to the start of the xc.

Looking forward to Eden Valley if it's not cancelled! :)

Well done that's a really positive start to the season, can't see your SJ video though? I think I was with you in the warm up for everything, we were so lucky with the ground/weather I feel for everyone who was supposed to be competing today.

We were so lucky to have that weather on Friday! How did you get on? Next time you see me say Hello :) xx

Not too bad considering I've only ridden the horse about a dozen times this year! Good dressage 29.8 (bit generous imo), unfortunate pole SJ and a stop at the 2nd XC as it took her a little while to get going, she went very green on me.
I will do, think now the first event is done I'll be more relaxed and chatty! :D

Well done - I was also there on Friday afternoon doing the BE80. I love Stafford. I feel for the people who had their run ruined by the weather yesterday.

Lovely report, well done. Have you got anymore events planned?

Thank you :)

We are entered at Eden on Sunday but I'm sure that'll be cancelled with all this rain :( I'll enter Kelsall and then it'll be Hutton as I have to sell cupcakes in between so will miss a couple :( Gotta pay for the ponies somehow ;) Looking forward to doing some more with her......she is so special :) :)
