Should’ve mentioned, it’s with a mix of dogs, not singles. I know yours are in runs/pens, but this is a small yard that she’s built pens in, there isn’t room for them to run or anything.

I think 'daycare' entails taking dogs to a premises and letting them tear-arse about with each other all day while the owner is at work, rather than in a van/group walks, which can at least offer some other forms of stimulation.

I know two people who operate their own daycare businesses and would not dream of letting their own dogs partake.

A lot of people are just happy as long as their dog is exhausted when it comes home in the evening

Yes, that’s a fair description. But I do think it’s important to put the positive side forward. Certainly the big day care centres are not somewhere I would want a dog of mine to go to. We work hard to ensure a happy environment for our guests and endeavour to match dogs for the best experience for all of us - starting with Daisy, guest, then me

We have just taken on a ‘new’ dog - the first in three years. We’re grateful for loyal customers which means that we have the same dogs week on week, year on year.

But our clients still refer to us as Daycare.

My friend runs a home boarding and day care business. The dogs are in the house and have access to the field at the back. They aren't in crates but there are quiet places around the house. My dog is happy to go there when we are away. Much better than kennels with runs. You choose that suits your dog surely.

Also none of my dogs have been crated. They happily go into carriers when in the car. They behave in the house and sleep when we are out. Have free access to water always. Each to their own but I prefer it that way as if they need to stretch their legs and walk round the house when they want.

Yes this is what I meant. Mine may spend longer in their own than I'd prefer but in my eyes it's much better.
