Hi,

I have just returned to competing after having a 10 year break so I am not up to speed on what people are wearing these days to compete in.
I used to wear a navy show jacket with velvet collar - is that old fashioned now?
I heard that some people wear these new Musto jackets or that black or more popular than navy if you wear the traditional jacket?
I have looked at a few online and most seem to be the polyester type that almost looked shiny and not that nice.
Can anyone recommend where is good to buy a decent one?

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

No, navy is nice, but I want a black one to match my boots and hat! What are 'these new Musto jackets', I've never seen anything other than a normal one (or at least what I consider to be normal!)

PS guys, I'm looking for a black one and I wondered if anyone has the equetech dynamic and do you like it or not?

What kind of competitions are you planning to enter?

I got a Pikeur Diana in the cool wool fabric a couple of years ago - it's lovely and doesn't go shiny. Not too hot either - I've worn it all summer without cooking

I liked the Epsom too, which is a bit shorter so probably better if you do a lot of SJ.

I like Navy better, but that's just my opinion - you see plenty of both black and navy, I don't think it matters at all tbh.

What the??? That looks like my friends ski jacket! Apologies if you're considering it, but I would never wear that unless I went to an SJ comp in Siberia! Well, depends on your price range really. When I was a kid I had a polyester shires one which was bargain basement £20. Then I got a really nice tweed which I still wear. I think most have velvet collars, I like velvet collars anyway. Shires do other nice ones, as do equetech but they get a bit pricier!

A second vote for the Pikeur jackets. I think mine may also be a Diana but I don't know for definite, I just picked the one that fitted the best!

I wear black but that is just personal choice, I do think navy can look more feminine!

What size would you recommend? I am a 10-12 UK size.
The equiports look great but quite pricey..how do they compare price wise to the Pikeur?

Thank you for all you help! much appreciated :0)

I got my pikeur from Cool Equestrian as I bought if off their stand at a show

link but I'm sure you can get them cheaper if you shop around. You really need to find one to try on if possible though - I usually wear a 38 in Pikeur but I think my Diana is 40.

Dressage Deluxe are cheaper
