This may be a long thread... :o
I may be taking the little cob I've started riding to a show next Sunday just to do some in-hand classes, it's only a local charity show so nothing fancy! Anyway, I'm not really sure what classes to enter and how to turn out myself and podge. - I have shown inhand before, but with M&M's not Coblets :D

He's a 6 year old, 14hh (On his tiptoes) traditional cob and is a little over 'show condition' but we're getting there with his extra exercise regime! So 2 questions about him...

1) His mane was eaten by donkeys in winter  and so it's just growing back, it looks like he's got a double mane as it doesn't go to any side... just straight forwards. SO.. Do I leave it as it is, hog it or try and thin it & plait?

2) I needs some tips for washing as his tail is disgusting! I mean matted with poo! I'm going to wash it tomorrow but is there any secret recipe for detangling poo out?

Pictures to help- (Please excuse the jumping saddle, extra long reins and large bit ring, these are being corrected as we speak )

I'd offer cream cake for any who read all of this but I ate it :o
Any comments will be greatly appreciated! Unless they're awful

Ideally you need to grow that bad boy mane out to show him au naturale but as its a local show I would try and plait mane and tail. That's probably not the right thing to do but I'd do anything not to shorten it further so it will grow.

The plan is to let it grow out as personally I like them all fuzzy :D I'm not really sure how to plait it though as it's so thick! Who knew cobs could be so awkward? ;)
