I've had a request to help in a show a the farm next door but i haven't been to a show for donkeys years - what would stewards normally do? Seems a daft question but would like to know what I'm letting myself in for (I'm very keen as stewards get free use of the cross country course)

basically - mark off on your sheetw hich competitors are forward, those numbers that are not give other call for them. Then close the ring. Give instructions as judge asks you to move on the competitiors on the go round. Then oull in and line up as and when judge tells you to. Make sure tha competitors are forward for the judge so class runs smoothly. Wrie down any comments on your sheet that judge wants noting. Have rosettes ready to hand to judge on completion of class. Hope that makes sense, it's all pretty simple stuff but realy tiring coz you seem to be here there and everywhere. Have a good day and don't worry, most judges are usually very friendly and grateful of your help.

Sounds like a lot of running around. good for the figure I suppose :) What do they normally wear?

I did it again recently for the first time in ages...I just wore Brown Pants, poloshirt and bodywarmer/gillet...but honestly the most important thing is FOOTWEAR...Horseywelsh gave a good Job Description, but dont forget to ask the judge what he/she wants you to do they all differ.
