I'm looking for advice on showing my coloured gelding, in fact - showing in general! I think the last 'showing' I did was Family Pony...since then I've been a bit more focused on jumping as I haven't had something suitable for showing.
Now I've acquired Rupert, people have told me I should get him out showing this summer - he turns 4 in a few weeks. Trouble is, I don't know the first place to start - first off, what sort of classes should I enter for? And is it best to start with inhand? He's a massive show off, so I think he'd look smart in the ring, although is a bit of a live wire so I think I'd rather start off in hand!
He's 15hh at the moment, has one blue eye. He's not heavy really, no idea what breed he is but is probably most similar to a section D - similar amount of feather in the summer. Here are some pics - one of him being ridden a few weeks ago, one of him last summer.
Any advice on classes, turnout, what to do with mane, feathers etc would be great!!
