I need your advice on correct turnout for ridden hunter and working hunter showing classes.
Have done m+m and whp before but never any showing on horses.
So what should I wear for ridden hunter?
I have a brown tweed jacket, beige breeches, long black boots and a navy hat with leather harness. What could shirt and tie/stock should I wear?
Should I wear spurs and if so are dummy spurs acceptable? My horse wont need any encouragement in going forwards! I could always wear normal spurs but shes never been ridden in them before.
Im guessing I should wear the same for working hunter?
Oh, and gloves. Is brown ok?
And then for the horse.
She has a brown saddle with brown leather girth and the saddle is fitted with a brown half numnah, is this ok?
As for bridle shes currently ridden in a loose ring with cavesson. I have both a Pelham and also my mums lovely double bridle so will try her in these but if she doesnt like them will a snaffle be acceptable?
And then for jumping in wh would a snaffle be ok? Im not sure if she would happily jump in a Pelham/double as she is likely to take offence if I do something stupid with double reins
.
Also for wh I would like to use a martingale. Is a breastplate or martingale preferred or does it not normally matter?
Sorry for all the questions, life was much simpler with the pony, he just went in a snaffle, cavesson and no boots/martingale etc for everything!
Thanks in advance and sorry for the boring thread.
