Another day another step forward in the right direction. His head is still BTV however its a lot less and not so glued to his chest. Its interesting to watch him develop and how the work progresses on a daily basis.

Well I actually think he was a lot better in his head carriage today - it's the most consistent I've seen it under saddle since this trainer started. Before he was ducking behind the flicking out in front, whereas today there was very little 'ducking' behind and instead just a periodic gentle drawing back, which is then corrected.

He had his hind end far more off the leg in the canter today too. His forward tort work is definitely getting better, and although he still lacks much of a powerful push from behind, I'm sure that will get there.

So yeh, brain's in the right place and the body's definitely getting there.

It's getting there and I def see him starting to understand what is being asked. I can't wait to see him at full power pushing from behind.

Lot better, I enjoyed watching this video, certainly starting to come together x

Glad you can see the changes.

looking much better :)

(although I did have to stop myself shouting 'Wrong diagonal!!' at the beginning, lol!)

Ah the old diagonal chestnut !

Been watching a few videos but never commented, I feel that everyone else had already covered what I thought! I see a big improvement in this video though. I just feel that Armas was rounder in this session in his overall shape, and his collected work was so full of energy rather than looking a bit flat.

Oh good, that's twice now that DD has typed out my thoughts for me! :p

This was really nice to watch from a progression of training pov I thought. The initial work she did is starting to look properly established now - he's waiting and listening to the rider (mostly ;)) but also *forward* today which is great to see. The sideways all looked much easier for him with that bit more energy. Hard to say from a video but I get the feeling that he will be easier to collect in the lateral work from that easy forward starting point, rather than starting too slow and trying to put energy and expression *IN* - the times she has ridden him without a lot of oomph he just tightens and comes back at her.

Agree he looks much more consistent in the rein and I just looked back randomly at some of the v early videos of the 2 of them to remind myself - he's taking it so much better now. :)

At the end of the collection on the long reins yesterday he did look like he was tiring and the steps became irregular again. Today I thought he was a lot better - the short bits of collection interspersed with some more forward steps to recover and refresh the contact/forwardness seems to really suit him. Nice to see the moment where she was able to drop the reins without him scooting off. Lots of work still to do there but he looks quite happy to offer it like that.
