Yes its another one of these posts, but I want to see if I'm over reacting!
Moved to a new yard in November 2012, it sounded great and looked great! So you guessed it I moved, I chose DIY livery, with private paddock (£25pm extra), hay and straw not bad.........however, I have been buying hay and only using it slowly as my lad is a "bed eater" anyway, its a yard that doesnt allow outside hay, straw, haylage, etc. Fine by me, but I have one problem, when the hay is poor quality and the straw is wet, I think I should complain, which I havent yet!
Anyway, my birthday just passed and my non-horsey Dad bought me a small bale of hay, I thought great! I filled a haynet and took it to the yard and was going to tell YO would it be alright to use, its only one bale and I have ordered two off him this week. Anyway went down to the paddock bought my lad in, OH was sat very angry and told me YO was near our lock up and I repeat and quote "GET THAT *******ING STUFF OFF MY YARD NOW! I'VE TOLD YOU ABOUT THIS BEFORE!"
1: He didnt give my OH a chance to explain
2: He knows my OH is non horsey
3: I've not once bought outside hay/straw/etc in!
I'm curious now, as I have never bought any outside hay on, but he is accusing me of this since I got there, I want to know where does the hay I order from him go then???
Other things that bug me are, horses are constantly getting out of paddocks, either jumping them or barging through electric fencing (that is NEVER on)
Apparently they also "look" out for your horse when you arent there and call you in an emergency, I found my lad down in his stable with colic!
I was told by them I couldnt use the school to help the colic shift so had to walk round the car park!!
Then we were cleaning out van out and we put some things on the floor to clean and YO was there telling us we couldnt keep it there!! It was going back in once I'd tidied the rubbish out!
My lad has not settled and is a complete change of character, he's gone from being a steady plod, who liked being fussed and brushed, to a nut case while out hacking, kicking his stable walls, sweating alot in his stable, jogging on the spot, really bad head shy-ness, this seems to have got worse since I have been there.
Am I being rediculous??? I intend on leaving this yard after only being there from November.
It feels like YO is stalking me and I feel very un-easy about this, thankfully a friend has a yard and is letting me move there hopefully in the next few days!
