Just had my sharer of 7 weeks "hand in her notice". Shame really as she was a very good rider. Cannot say I'm surprised as have had it before (with different horse) and heard it anecdotally, they will stick it a couple of months then realise it is too much committment for a horse that isn't their own.
But is it really too much to ask for someone to ride a really well behaved, well schooled horse with no issues whatsoever on full livery for FREE twice a week? No mucking out, only bring in if not in already, groom, tack up and ride and give hard feed afterwards. Excellent hacking and small indoor school to go in. I think it was the lack of jumping that did for this one and she has probably got an offer to ride one that she can jump, but I had hoped she would stay longer.
I actually know what they can be like, so had two decent ones respond at the same time to my ad and took them both on. Fortunately the other one is still with me, if she gives up then I've had it with sharers. Its too much hassle and effort and disruptive to the horse if they are only going to stick it a couple of months.
