Since I've got a sense of humour (pics)...

lol Jen i may have some dead sheep as like Nic i used to be on the darkside!! had a 14.2 JA once upon a time, shhh dont tell!

p.s - S always is imaculate even when she has been in our dusty indoor and everyone else looks as though they have been down the coal mines! :D

20th sounds good to me. I will put in a holiday request. :D

We can chat specifics much nearer the time... best all get practicing, eh?! ;)

Sounds like a good number of us will make it and will be a good giggle, really looking forward to it already. :) FlyingCoo, bogpony and I are having a mini-meet next month as practice where we will scare/entertain/wow St Gatherer at SNEC! ;) :D (well... we've succeeded in booking onto the same training clinic slot, poor David won't know what's hit him?! Hopalong and I will need to pull our socks up to keep up with FlyingCoos and Pingy bogponies!)

ooo what time are you lot trying to book in for? i would come watch if i'm not busy, or be really brave and book in - no actually thats a crazy idea, St gatherer would def have a heart attack and we need him! :)

its ok i think it would be silly for me to go for a lesson with David so early. think i would hold you all back too. unless they have any lessons for me with little fences just to pop over to start with while we get to know each other, though i think most people having lessons with david are a lot more established than we will be. will consider the spectating option :)

Count me in - pony should be fixed and I'd say I'm the HHO in most need of show jumping practice. I should also have my transport fixed by then.

If not then I'll take photos, put up poles and eat curly fries ;)

Kez - AMAZING news, thrilled for you, can't wait to see pics.

kez- if you are felxible with time, there is likely to be a baby horse class if you ask? Or even just in with more novice riders wanting smaller fences.

Caroline- it's the Oct one I'm doing at 7pm, on the 8pm lesson for Sept, so should see you in passing at least! :) I guess you're too far to be convinced to cmoe play SJ next year?!

daveismycat- yay, another person signed up! :D Good to hear it, hope all transport issues fixed by then and we will have you and M flying by the third round, if not the second! ;) It will be a lovely low key chance to ride around a course, although by then I'm sure you'll have got out and mastered it already. :)

There is a chance I can come too, but I don't have stables built yet so my horse will be living out. if the weather is bad I won't go as its rubbish turning him out in the dark.

If he is stabled then, I would love to come along - what time will it kick off? I would plan to do 80cms/90cms or higher depending on how fit he is

I live near Biggar so its a bit of a trek but worth it to jump in a decent venue! I have been to a couple of rowallan intro shows (on a ticket)

My Goodness at this rate we will be needing a page on Kirkton's new website!!
More the merrier!!
Maybe would be better booking it out as only because I would feel sorry for any randoms turning up!!!:D

Well SNEC's international arena is £80/hr midweek, so if Rowallan was a similar price if would work out a similar price per head (if everyone held to their promise of course...!) and we would be able to run through various heights to suit everyone over the course of a couple of hours easily.

Might be worth asking? If you can promise them 8 people @ £20/head, could ask if we can block out a couple of hours mid-morning (when they're likely to be quiet anyway?).

So prob no need then? That saves worrying about losing money if a horse/person can't make it for whatever reason. :)

PS- any Edinburger-area folk, we could maybe consider doing summat similar at SNEC, as above, if there were 4/5 of us, it would work out £20 or less per head and in an hour we could prob manage 2 or 3 rounds each. :)

Yup I'm up for the SNEC thing too as still works out way cheaper than trying to hire school yourself through the winter and of course the social side of things! (Plus SNEC is slightly closer than Rowallan&Ingliston for me!Only reason I avoid them so much is having to go through those Roadworks at Cumbernauld just now! Argh!)

Perhaps now thinking the FC might not get his such long winter holibags this year!

I have no issue paying money upfront for school hire as being such a skinflint Aberdonian and grippy it means I will turn up regardless even if its to shift poles for everyone else!!:)

As Nic says it's rarely that busy through the day, especially in the depths of winter... I *think* arena hire might be £100 an hour, but that could be totally wrong. Think we're best just turning up and hoping nobody else has had the same idea... Good thing is that with as many of us going we can hog the practice fences and get jumps in the ring fired up and down rapidly as necessary!

Cool, will maybe try organise that sometime Nov/Dec? Might get some more Easterly HHOers involved in that one also.

FC- you think you have it bad, I'm an Aberdonian with a Fifer for a Dad, my hands don't even reach my pockets, never mind the bottom of them! :p (although technically I'm a Weegie, I lived in Aberdeen 12years from 5yrs old).

For me, Snec would be better, but happy with majority.

I'm happy to pay for my share up front and if I can't make it then I forfeit my money - thats what our local riding club does for lessons unless they have someone who will slot in.

I think if there is a group we should plan to bring stuff for a picnic party afterwards?

Caroline, we will try do both, so you can pick and choose either/both! :) Rowallan one seems to be a definite and requires no money up front, just arranging to all be in the same place at the same time, so should be easy enough.

SNEC one will need money up front, but happy to try organise this at some point and picnic party after could be arranged I'm sure. :D (no doubt we'll end up choosing a date with howling wind/rain/general horribleness! ;)

What about Kbarns for the easterlys?!!! it has a nice lounge with sofas and tv and food, and a tack shop opening for the social side of things....plus we could use the gallops too included with the hire (eventer brain there).....would be cheaper than snec too, and the working hunter fences could be used for xc type schooling!

Am easy-osey though, either is fine by me!! :D

Babybear you were signed up in your absence on about page 6 I think lol! We'll go from poles on the floor to 1.10m plus depending on what everyone wants to do - FJ has to do 1.10m in prep for her Novice runs next season...

Plenty of us to adjust/pole pick, it'll be fun!

Excellent -I think we've just about passed the poles on the ground stage lol! Will be good to try different heights - pony can easily pop 80cms when he feels like it :D
