My mare started last week with a strong awful smelling thick nasal discharge small amount of bloodfrom her left nostril vet came out Tuesday but decided due to her being in her mid twenties to have in for X-ray and endoscope on Friday they found nothing from tests but her sinuses were full of pus she had the operation to insert the drain into them and was given antibiotics and Danilon and flush through tube with saline twice daily. They are concerned if they're is anything further underlying and have recommended a CT scan at Liverpool to rule it out quite a distance away and more stress for my elderly horse but it would need to be done in next 12 months for the insurance
Horse had a fairly bad bang to the head last October unsure on what came in from field with a wound which resulted in regular nosebleeds over the following five days and really slowed her down and set her back I'm wondering if this has played a role in the sinusitis or has it been too long ????
