I've never posted here so please help me out!!!

My Jack Russell bitch was in season (bleeding, then it stopped - running white is stuff) BUT I believe it stopped two days ago after she came running in from outside with her head and neck covered in slobber. I went to investigate and there was the farmers sheepdog (not neutered) outside the back door in her pen area which he has never been in before and has not been back.

If it helps, she has been constantly drinking and eating which is not like her and she is normally very fussy.

Could she have been covered by him??? If so, any info/advice would be VERY helpful....

As the title - I'm panicking :O

Stopping bleeding isnt the end of the heat... they are often most fertile when it runs clear...... Best to keep dogs away for 4 weeks!!, from the first day of heat!

Will take her to the vets asap... Is there a time-frame for the Jab to work? Have tried looking it up and all I can find really is saying to get her spayed.

I've never seen the sheepdog before the "incident" and he would have had to jump a 1.5 m+ fence to get to her. Haven't seen him since either. I don't take her out of garden when she is in heat out of precausion but things happen.

Those injections do bring them back into season and u can risk a pyo with them, which of course you will risk in the long run if she is left entire.
Obs there is always the option of neuter as you have read.
