Snow forecast...a lot of it!

Reading all your posts it is like we r in a different country here in Somerset. No snow. Lots of rain last few days but boxing up locally for a ride with friends today ! Keep safe and warm everyone.

Our council seems to have given up trying to sort the roads! We got about 4-5in.of snow the other day, less than 1cm has fallen again since but the wind has been horrendous and has been putting foot high drifts on the main roads and 3-4ft drifts on the gallops. I would be qiite happy righy now for just the wind to leave as it is savage!

So woke up in northants to a blanket of snow and more falling- met office shows continuos light snow all the way to Sunday lunch :(

Everything's white outside here in Cambs. :( There's a fjord show been organised for tomorrow but I don't know if anyone is going to be able to make it.

White over here in Bromsgrove. Not too deep yet, about an inch, but still coming down heavy. Really hope this stupid country can deal with trains today, my OH is coming down from Newcastle and I will be gutted if he can't get here :(

Snowing hard here in Sandhurst . . . and settling. Had all sorts of plans for today . . . time for some rethinking.

P

Well I can take the pretty pictures I wanted! Coming down heavy in Hereford with a couple of inches already on the ground!

We've had snow for the last three days! It's been blown into the stables and hay store and there is at least 8 inches lying on flat ground, much more where it has drifted. Forecast is for more today and tomorrow :(

No one is going anywhere!

Just horrid, wet stuff here. Quite heavy but not settling, so far!! Cremedemonthe is only about 8 miles from me (in Narnia), so I'm thinking it's on its way :p

Snowing here in South Beds but not really settling much.
I am fed up of being fed up of saying how fed up I am with the weather :(
I work outside and have had nearly a year of bad weather except the two weeks over the Olympics.
Horse transport to the South of France anyone ?

here is a drift from just up the lanes from me-

Still coming down no too. wishing it would just stop now! Even in 4x4 its a struggle get anywhere

It's been snowing all week here, had melted a bit but the wind just keeps blowing it back into the roads annoyingly.

Don't think the pic will work from phone

where are you catcus?
thats like at ours somefields are pretty much grass cause of how wind blowing but the other side is so deep. nearly fell over a waist high drift walking dog this morning as couldnt see where going with snow and wind so we gave up and came home!!

I'm in east central Scotland. The drifts are a pain, I was bringing the horse in the other night in a blizzard and the drifts held my weight but the poor horse ploughed chest deep through them. Nothing to do but keep going forwards. The snowploughs have been great, most roads have been kept passable.

We have 23cm here on the flat and the drifts are higher than me! Which i was rather impressed with lol.
Im also feel very mean as my Tb is out in the field in it! He has hay though and is rugged but still feel mean even though he doesn't care in the lightest

My TB is out too- i feel mean and wat to bring in but actually cant get up yet awaiting the tractors to go plough the drive and lanes

Oooooo dear - we have a white out ! Hubs is so excited, he loves taking the landy cross country in this. The last time he skidded down a bank and we ended up in a hedge, so I don't have high hopes for today.

Leicestershire..Snow and snowing.

Was supposed to go to Selly Oak to get my son today. Can anyone tell me how the roads are in Birmingham ?
