Anyone got any?!

I was supposed to be at Summerhouse Regionals tomorrow and writing for the Ele freestyles on Sat.
After an anxious couple of days poring over the hourly weather forecast and dreaming up a helicopter ride for Kira to the venue, they've postponed to next week

So a few days of struggling around with frozen water buckets and terrible roads instead. If things perk up then Salty will have arena hire on Sunday :D

Stay safe everyone :)

my clinic has been cancelled. Tbh I'm a bit relieved because the pony has done barely anything all week and I just end up apologising for her stiffness.

About to fill every flask in the house with hot water so I can persuade the yard tap to start working!

Apparently its the first day of Spring - enjoy!

I was supposed to be heading to arena hire tomorrow but cancelled that! Hopefully having a grid work session in a nearby indoor school on Sunday morning...fingers crossed..!

Haha, i passed west Midlands safari Park yesterday and they have a banner sign up saying "Spring 2018 is Coming". I admire their conviction.

Glad they've postponed your regionals MP.
I have no plans. Let's see what the weather brings :D

I am supposed to be at a event jump clinic this Saturday, but have a feeling will be postponed as the venue have just postponed BD regionals for today and tomorrow due to weather .... had a lesson booked for Sunday, which might go ahead, so we shall see!

In the meantime I will be mostly boiling water, defosting yard taps, filling water buckets and mucking out :-)

Stay safe and warm everyone !

Big fat nothing for me! I'd like to be able to just get out and ride at the weekend. Not left the house in 2 days :D thanks, Beast!

I’ve decided now is a very sensible time to give my boy a week off, especially as it was on a good note - after a tricky Summerhouse he went to another show last week and behaved impeccably, so big ‘phew’ all round.

I’m just mega gutted as we had a girls weekend away planned with a catered house rented for a 40th birthday. Unfortunately cancelled :(

Plans are to play in the snow  not sure the horses are as thrilled with the snow...

We were meant to be showing Saturday and it's cancelled because of snow. Was meant to be celebrating Mum's birthday tomorrow but she's cancelled that because we're both going to be walking to our yards for the day.

Bring on spring!

My plans are survival :D Poulticing the little cob, in hand walking of the big cob, provided it's not too icy. He's very well at the moment; 6 year old highly strung active cob on week 3 of box rest is not a fun thing.

So I'll probably ride more school horses. I had another school horse lesson today which was lovely. Very different horse again- you have to be very quiet with your hands as she's very sensitive, which is good for me because I have a very noisy left hand and she wouldn't let me get away with it! Hopefully she will train that hand to sit still :D

I'm very impressed with Summerhouse. I got the email saying they had rearranged to next week and promised refunds for those who couldn't make it. I had already withdrawn, but emailed to confirm I wouldn't attend the rearranged date either and they phoned me today and gave me a full refund. I did explain that I cancelled last week but they said since they are refunding others it wouldn't be fair to exclude me. I thought that was very nice indeed. I wondered whether bog cob would be ready by next week but it's all too up in the air. Plus the rearranged date is a Friday and I'm working, so I decided just to write off winter regionals and hope for the summer!

Polocrosse training cancelled... Just as well, it's going to be grim. I might go and play in the snow a bit with my mare and get some photos instead. Certainly not venturing out anywhere.

Taking Dae out to try and do some sledging / skiing with him towing tomorrow though :D

*Whispers* going to the beach...

I'm going to have the opposite problem of hot weather. Lots of water and electrolytes here, snow looks much prettier than crispy grass and sand!

Well looks like riding in the indoor maybe the only plan of riding I have apart from yard work that is the weekend plan.

Well theoretically my XC clinic on Saturday hasn’t actually been cancelled yet....

Well at least you will have a soft landing if you come off:D . Seriously though I would have thought it will be due to the treacherous ground.

Was supposed to be going jumping on Sunday but I don’t think i’ll be going anywhere at this rate. Horses haven’t been ridden since Tuesday and we’re due more snow.

Absolutely wild here at the moment - rescheduled wednesday’s flat lessons for today but I’m not sure my trainer will make it, and if she does, I’m not sure how much we’ll get done with Raz, who’s a spooky idiot at the best of times

That sounds like an excellent idea. I may join you.

JFTD - that looks like fun!!! Would love to try that with Pocholo...if only I could get to the yard! Apparently the hill by the yard is strewn with abandoned cars so I don't think I'll give it a go in my Ford Focus...

Nothing apart from mucking out and filling water buckets, though we did get the yard tap unfrozen today. Snowing again now though 😭😭

We did have a busy weekend planned, with WH on Sat am, pony birthday party Sat pm, and a lesson on Sunday afternoon, but they've either been cancelled already or will cancel .

This is probably about my 10th weekend this winter of snow / ice so I will be mostly sitting in front of the fire.

I will ride in the arena probably

well we've had a very boring weekend stuck indoors :( Finally the sun broke through and enough melted to get the horses round to the paddocks... very glad because Salty mainly did this for half an hour :D

Hopefully get back to normal tomorrow :)

Salty looks athletic! All our snow has pretty much gone now and the fields have turned to mud. Ice in the trough won't budge though. I emptied the trug that was in the field and it was solid ice.

Managed a hack out on a friend's horse. Pretty much all road work, but after the past week it was a relief to be heading back to normal.

Roads were too icey to get the trailer out or to hack unfortunately so schooled yesterday and had a wee jump today which pleased M - he's far happier with all 4 feet off the ground lol

Managed to get up into the school today but all of the horses were feeling the effects of having most of the week off.

On the more positive side, I managed to run through M71 without too much bother so hoping to pencil in a sneaky medium outing a few weeks earlier than I had originally planned.

Still waiting to hear if RC team dressage is going ahead this coming weekend. Might go jumping if it’s not.

I had two fantastic lessons on school horses. Both very different horses to mine, which meant my flaws were all the more apparent. But by the end of the lessons I had clicked with both of the horses so that felt good.

My little cob is back out in the field now, so he's delighted. And the big cob managed a longer in hand walk and a little lunge (to see how he's moving) and he looks like he's better. My instructor is sitting on this week so fingers crossed we will be back to normal soon.
