Has anyone used these?
how do they come up size wise and do they sit nicely on the wither?
I have a bit of a grotty horse so am currently using a summer sheet under his turnout to enable washing. They seem to slip back a bit and end up tight on his shoulders under another rug though- fine alone!
These look nice a light, presume very quick to wash and dry and cheap to boot!

I've got two petticoats which are years old and used regularly. They do slip back and are tight on his shoulders but are so light that they haven't rubbed him. They are more robust than they look and though I've done some running repairs in recent years, I've been really pleased with them.

My friend used these and didn't rate them I have seen the under rugs by snuggy and I think they are called spik and span rugs and are more like sweet itch rugs which can be used to keep them clean or as under rugs for turnout I think they are better as I have been looking into them as well, I have just ordered a headless turnout good as sick of muddy ponies.

There are a few used ones on eBay at the moment

Ok, that sounds good. They don’t slide back uncomfortably? I’m not really worried about shoulder rubs but more him being uncomfortable!

Sorry it wouldn't let me edit , meant to say size wise they are true to size and haven't noticed any discomfort around withers. Brads doesn't appear uncomfortable in them. The only point to mention is that I have had static shocks from them occasionally which makes us both jump!

Ohhh, I can help with that! Rub your hands all over his back before taking it off! Mine gets that with his sweet-itch rug and it really does work

I found it throttled my horses. I use a thinner top rug and a 100g liner when possible as they wash just as easily but don't slide backwards.

Dont waste your money! They pull back, then slide around and usually come off the side. I bought 2. 1 got ripped to pieces on day 3 and the other got sold for pennies to get rid of it!

Id suggest going up a rug size than normal. Mine is a cob so is tight round the neck/shoulders but I dont think it causes her any discomfort. Its been good under her cotton sheet as that usually slips back and with using the front loop it hasnt. I havnt had it slip at all and just use the front loop and the back ones.
Her snuggy hoods have been good. Her fleece one was a medium and was tight round her jaw so bought a m/l for turnout but it is still tight round this area and big on the ears.
The sweetitch rug is a 5'6 (usual rug size is 5'9) Suggested by them to go down a size. Thought this was tight on her withers but this was actually a better fit than the new one i bought her in a 5'9 as it slips back too much. So i use this one as a ride on in the summer.

I also now prefer to use a thin liner rug, either the PE/horsewear liners or just a thin stable rug.

The petticoat is a faff to put on and take off too. Easy to get in a muddle if someone isn't used to it.

I used the petticoat on my large tb in the spring when his coat is changing as he’s fully clipped. It didn’t rub him at all and didn’t slip back, but he has got massive shoulders. he’s a proper old school national hunt type with big withers. Really quick and easy to wash, just remember tounclip the back from The rug before you take it off. I think it’s fab.
