has anyone got one which just goes over the head and to part way down the neck?

Do they fit quite snuggle and stay where they should do...or is it worth getting a full necked one?

I bought a head for my disgusting grey mud monkey but with 10 mins it had moved. It fitted really well so I was :( and sold it on eBay.

i have one,the face, throat and ears dont move at all
but
the edge nearest the withers(if you know what i mean?) does ride up a little bit.
i use mine with a full neck t/o and having a pony who gets ground-in mud on ears and forelock and jaw,it is great.
as with all necks/hoods you do need to keep the horse away from fences/hedges.

Thanks for your replies. He wears a full neck turnout but plasters himself daily all over his head, ears and half way down his neck and he HATES it being brushed off - parts of our field are clay as well which just sticks so badly!

Eeek, have just ordered one of these in their sale! Looks like it may have to go on Ebay!

Fran - I'm on clay mud also and am fed up of washing my TB's leg off every night when he comes in (doesn't help his arthritis either!)! Today I put pig oil all over his legs and apart from muddy hooves he came in spotless tonight! :D :D

Have also applied it round the top of his head/neck but not sure if that's worked or not as he didn't roll today *shock*

If you do try pig oil do a little tester patch first for a few days before you cover him in it!

LOL Cahill, great minds :p :D

I'm selling two at the moment...one that fits my 17hhID, amd the other that belonged to my finer WBxTB so a size smaller.

Pm me if you're interested? Don't want to look like I'm advertising! Lol

I will have to check the size but I believe my smaller one is M/L (fit a horse who's bridle was mashed up from cob amd full)

They have ears but no zips(though you can send off to have zips fitted)

Are they hard to put on without zips? I'm still hoping they might work on my TB  The new one I bought was really cheap so thought it was worth a try! Need one for the youngster too though!

If you could PM me the size and price when you know it that would be fab :)

Fran,

I got one last year but a full neck with face (with ears and zip) and genuinely has never moved an inch - most definitely my buy of the year, especially if D is like Sicco and crossed with a hippo.

Mines going on ebay, wore it twice and both times removed it within 10 minutes :( Wish I had gone for the proper hood. A livery of mine emailed them and they are making adjustments for her after her horse got it off.......yet to see if it works. I can't believe it will.
