Don't get me wrong, I love my yard, but there are some people who wind me up!
My horse isn't even 4 yet, and is in very light work, I am just aiming to build up his confidence. However, the last two days, when I get on him, he's flown into a rage, and starting bucking. I've briefly checked his back, and it seems tender, and YO had a look and she agrees, so I am getting the back man out to have a look, but until then Blade is just enjoying chilling in the field.
However, one particular person on my yard has it in for me; she thinks he's just being naughty, and should be worked harder. - fair enough, you might think, but in my eyes, he's only a baby, and I want to do things my way.
I do not want to strap his head in position using various gadgets.
I do not want to canter him round and round the arena until he sweats like hell.
I do not want to be jumping 3'3 on him right now.
I want to get a bond with my horse, bring him on gently, and create a willing, responsive horse.
I am sick to death of this particular person always having digs at me, because I am younger. She says Blade doesnt have anything wrong with him, and needs "proper" work, which may be the case, but I want to get him checked over, and make sure he is not in any pysical pain as it is so out of character for him.
Also YO told me this morning that she thinks said person has been trotting my horse up and down to see if he is lame.
He is not, btw. he is fully sound, but just tender on his back and his stride seems more stilted than usual, there is something wrong - I know it. But the cheek of someone taking my horse out his stable without my permission really annoys me....I'd never do that to anyones horse without their permission,
- YO has said she will keep an eye out tomorrow and confront them if they do it again.
But I am sick of it. What I cant understand is - he is my horse. he is only young. it is doing him no harm having a couple of weeks off. so what is her problem?
Why does she feel she has the right to comment on eveerything I do with my horse?
Am I over-reacting?
It's really got to me, by all means she is allowed her opinion, but I just feel she is too involved with something, that really is none of her business....
