i have totted up the cost of 8 ponies at my yard..all to make between 13.2 and 14.2, some with Breed passports, and the 8 didn't cost anywhere near what this thing will cost...AND they dont have health issues!

Surely in this instance charity really should begin at home, especially in light of the belief of the major charities that Amersham type situations are very likely to reoccur in the UK unless the indiscriminate addition of unnecessary horses (either by ill thought out breeding or importing) to the UK herd is stopped.

She's out of a mare called Royal Harvest, who ran once and was 7th out of 8 runners.

Royal Harvest has only one other runner recorded, and it ran once and been tailed off.

The mare should never have been bred from. And this poor little soul should be put out of her misery in France, not hauled to the UK........

as the owner has stated (so it says on the "rescue" sites) he doesn't want this mare bred from, it would seem prudent to do so.

I was trying to make the point that the breeding is hardly exceptional, as the mare didn't win, and neither Royal Harvest or her sibling (by Daylami) won either.

Apparently on the French site, she's not even in danger of going for meat, she's out in the pasture.

Do the user of this forum know that this 'charity' agree with this sort of 'rescue'? I'm utterly shocked, I have never donated to Bank End on the basis it was not a registered charity and I'm very wary of con artists, now I see this I'm very glad I never got involved. I'd be raging if any of my hard earned cash went towards importing frecnh meat horses
