So-called "Rescue sites" Charity comes out AGAINST!!!

no I don't think its widely know PS, we knew something was amiss as GRF had changed her sig for a bit a while ago but I think this revelation perhaps goes someway to explaining why?

Here is a very interesting link to a UK charity/ non profit organisation going against everything said..

They could have gotten 2 for the price of this French bred TB

Do the user of this forum know that this 'charity' agree with this sort of 'rescue'? I'm utterly shocked, I have never donated to Bank End on the basis it was not a registered charity and I'm very wary of con artists, now I see this I'm very glad I never got involved. I'd be raging if any of my hard earned cash went towards importing frecnh meat horses

I am furious!! I sent quite a big donation not long ago and feel that I was misled!

This mare is injured, and not fit to travel, as far as can be seen from the photos.

To bring her back to the UK is cruelty, not rescue........

Especially when she is going to a 'rescue' place that has confessed to not having enough money for adequate fencing and footcare for the horses in her charge already. (I have that info in a pm)

And very concerning seeing as I thought BER was against this sort of thing from their comments on one of the 'franch' threads a while ago...

And wasn't the virtual dressage comp in aid of them? I was going to take part and didn't in the end - glad now if that's what my money was going to!

Perhaps she will be placed in foster care for recuperation for a few months prior to being travelled?? Certainly at the moment this particular horse would not seem to meet the required level of fitness needed in order to travel under the TPA.

She certainly doesnt and I can see no useful purpose to recoup her and then travel her either. She is going to have lifelong problems whichever country she piles up in. Poor mare. She is a non ridden non brood mare for a reason.

its here
it strikes me as odd, BER was one of the main players in trying to get UK horses saved or at least have the Franch ones vetted & blood tested

I totally agree, even if she was healthy enough to travel I feel we should save our own first, charity starts at home!

PS you have hit the nail right on the head

So after all the threats about lawyers and police knocking on the anti-Franch people's front doors, the Horse Trust is now saying what the anti's have been trying to say!

I'm now only waiting for the Franch rescuers to come and reply, saying that the people on the Horse Trust are no real horse lovers and that they will not be able to sleep at night in fear of the police and the "rescuers" lawyers coming knocking at their door, how they've been blinded by the illegal horse hating activist-people's talk...

M_G that link still works but I think what P_S is saying is that if you go from BER homepage there seems to be no obvious route to it from there.

You might know that is what she meant but just had a look myself and although I could get it to come up from your link can't find it from there.

If the topic wasn't so serious, it would almost be funny knowing the rescue sites thought that we had stopped campaigning because of their outlandish threats of lawyers and police....

indeed.....

but as we told "them" time and again...we will go about this LEGALLY, contact RELEVANT authorities....and something will be done...

and surprise, surprise it is.

Sorry havent read the whole thing but i was shocked to read the local paper to see a donkey sanctuary local is trying to raise funds to rescue donkeys from the meat fattening farms, i was under the impression rescue centres took on animals not to buy them which in turn helps the 'evil' fat farmers?
