We are off to pony club camp next week and the boy is stopping at a local yard for the week. I am redicolusly(sp?) excited considering I'm not about 12 and havnt been for some time but it is our first oppertunity so we are going for it.
For those that remember my post about being worried about starting pc at 19, I am so so gald I did they are all fab and I'm glad I did a bit of research to find one that would suit us even if they were not the closest one.

We are dropping the boy of at his hotel for the week tomorrow evening so I'm hopeing he will settle, me worring for no reason I hope. He even gets the luxury of a stable after roughing it in a field for the last few months ;) oh how I have missed mucking out .

Joking aside was hoping you lot could help me pack and make sure I dont forget any thing. Parents are not much help unfortunatly as they have very little to do with his every day care and know nothing about staying away, although they are very supportive and dad is going to fix my wheel barrow before we go. I will be coming home every night so no need to pack for me :).

Have read about taking feeds pre prepared so will get on that later but this is my list so far:
hay, hay nets, bedding, water bucket, feed bowl, fly spray sudocreme and the like, rain sheet, fleece and waffle just incase, grooming kit, bath stuff, stable bandages just incase, travel equipment (that will be on the pony so hopefully we cant forget that) and mucking out equipment.
Then for camp its self: tack, boots, body protector, hat and water container.

Thanks for reading any help much appreciated :D:D:D:D I am going to buzz round like mad thing for a bit and try to see if I have forgotten any thing.

Good plan was hoping that knobber will be to tired to be a complete knobber after a full day at camp.

Thanks I may have to do some daily updates so you may be bored of me by the end of the week :D

First have great fun at camp - they are fantastic and you'll have a ball ! Have been instructing at camp for fifteen odd years and it never ceases to amaze me how much riders improve after a weeks intensive instruction.

Packing wise - first make sure you label everything and I mean everything as things do tend to go walkies, not so much theft but that quick 'i'm in a rush as i'm late oh theres a brush I'll quickly borrow that one ' type of thing.

Things that riders most loose are - Lead ropes, Hoof picks, jacket, gloves - Have a spare.

Most forgotten, - Different bit required for different discplines, XC and dressage, studs,
spurs, gloves !

Write a list of everything you use in a day from wheelbarrow to sponges
re read list and cross off things that can be doubled up or not 100% required and then you should have everything you need and not have to lug to much around. Remember you do not need the kitchen sink !
Have fun !

Thanks abina hoping it will do us both good to get some intense lessons :D
We are not staying at camp as such as every one goes home at night but he is going to be kept locally for the week so not quite the same and hopefully less lost things.
He has a seprate bridle for jumping so that covers the bit, no studs as he has no shoes, must not forget the spurs or I may have no legs left  and gloves. :D

Have fun! I love pony club camp and am going yet again with my pc this year :D it's brilliant fun, but completely exhausting! I seem to spend all day riding and then up all night :D
As people have already said, label everything, usually someone will have the exact same stuff as you. Spares of everything as it will be guaranteed to chuck it down at least once, so it helps to have dry sets of jods :)
Stud kit if your horse wears studs, not to mention the small things like hairnets and your medical arm band. Don't forget tack cleaning stuff as you may be marked on tack&turnout throughout the week, and torches and large supplies of chocolate always come in handy ;)
It's always brilliant fun and your riding comes on so much, I always come back with more confidence, so I hope you have a great week! :D

First aid kit not necessary, unless he has needs beyond that of a normal pony (allergies, etc) as they will have one which is very well equipped as well as a vet and farrier on call.

Pony: cooler blanket, fleece, all tack and boots, normal feed (bag it up so there are enough ready-made for the feeding times and then add 3 more just in case so you don't have to faff getting it ready), hay/haylege, bedding (you'll probably want about 3 straw bales, plus one more for topping up). His headcollar, leadrope, a spare leadrope, a haynet.

Equipment (stable): grooming kit, including many sponges for washing down/ smartening him up. And a hoof pick and hoof oil (if you get inspected and marked)- everyone forgets these! Sudocrem and suncream if he's got pink skin.

You: lots of pairs of jods and lots of long sleeved t-shirts- you won't be allowed XC with bare arms but jumpers get very stuffy and hot, or very wet very quickly. A shirt, jacket and PC tie if you're getting inspected. Evening clothes- shorts, t-shirts, jumpers... Pyjamas and a sleeping bag, and 'tuck'. Take extra sugary/ high-carb things because by the end of the week you do tend to start flagging and so keeping yourself going on extra food does help! Things like rice crackers, haribo and lucozade work well! Also a big bottle of water.

Have an amazing time :D

Thanks guys :D
Good point about the long sleeved top I forgot one the other week and had to put my coat on

All I keep seeing on facebook is loads of statuses about it :D:D
