So how many horses do you have?

Currently have 2, my 15.1hh mare Chloe who is 14 and we think an Anglo Arab X, love her loads, she has taught me so much in the 2 years I've had her, was only meant to have her on loan for 6 months and nearly 3 years on and she's mine!

OH has a 5 year old reg ISH called Amber, we've had her since July. OH was originally just riding and bringing her on for her then owner to sell her and now she's ours! :)

Currently 3. Snowys the main one (17hh, 10 year old Belgian warmblood), I have just got back from holiday and he has just got back from boot camp so will see how hes going.
Then inherited/was given a pony for my cousin and sister to ride (12.3hh, 17 year old arabXwelsh). Does everything and a very sweet and pretty pony, old owner went to the same church as my aunt and believed it was gods intention for her to have the pony when she decided to rehome........
Third one is on loan (15.1hh, 3 year old cobX). Hes an abseloute dude and have him on a 3 year loan, hopefully will buy if owner decides to sell!

I am going to buck the trend here - I have none! Had two older mares a year ago, lost one September 2011 to arthritis and knee injury and my other old girl I lost 6 weeks ago. She was 24 and I bred her (and hand reared her!) so it is quite a loss. So now horseless for the first time in 34 years :( I miss them loads. I'll miss that feeling of happiness when you tuck your horse into a lovely comfy stable on a cold winters night, all snug in their rugs and tucking into a tasty dinner! I wont miss the rising costs though, feed and hay have just become so expensive over the years and as an owner you just have to bear the brunt and become financially astute at budgeting / sharing costs etc. I don't think I'll own again, but I may look into sharing in the coming years. With two daughters under the age of six I don't see me getting bored in the forseeable future. Good luck to all those who still have four legged friends, from those with one to those with 23 (my goodness, that is a lot!!) xx

12 - I know that's too many!! I do keep them at home though, and 11 are out 24/7.

In work:-
7 yo Spanish stallion - training for dressage career
10 yo Welsh D recently gelded, competing BD ele and BE
3 yo big Welsh D filly - daughter and I have just backed - may give her the worst of the winter months off
4 yo ID filly, very forward going, reschooling from the 'hunting/xc/sponsored ride' start she had in Ireland.
6 yo ISH mare, just backed her, was going 'to the factory' in Ireland (despite being Flagmount King/Clover Hill!!!). She has the most amazing temperament and attitude and will hopefully be a nice allrounder for my novice husband plus SJ with my daughter and me.
7 yo ISH (another Flagmount King) - project mare. Quite sharp - has a panic button - but my 14 year old daughter loves her and hopes to SJ/PC her.
15 yo 13 hh Irish pony for 8 year old daughter.

Field ornaments:-
13 yo Spanish broodie on an empty year
1 yo Spanish filly, daughter of above
1 yo Diamond Hit Hanoverian filly
2 x 2 yo Spanish fillies

Is that it? Quite exhausting, but worth it. I think I had 14 at worst. It is all manageable around my part time job, EXCEPT when they decide to trash fencing overnight, that requires fixing before work. Lots of riding and pushing wheelbarrows of hay around in the dark.

5 at the moment. 3 are actually mine, and 2 are my mums who seem to have adopted me !

Mine
Rhoda - 4yr old Section d mare, hunting and showing.Only young, but good as gold.

Maisy - 8yr old section d mare. For showing and considering breeding

Ceinwen _ 9 yr old section a mare. Riding pony for kids

My mams
Delyth - 7 yr old section a mare. just got home from breeding loan, so chilling out !

Petal - 23 yr old section a, eats, has hay, refuses to be caught, eats a bit more !
