She had an event today on her baby horse, it's only pony's third ODE, and the first two have been very much white knuckle rides. :redface3:

So dressage went fairly smoothly considering the last one they didn't break out of canter, and he's a big horse to turn. Two refusals SJ but it was slippery and a spooky course, nearly 50% of the class got eliminated at SJ.

And this is where it gets dramatic.

In the warmup for XC, she was cantering a circle and pony's back legs slipped out from underneath him, he nearly went down and she was unseated, so was clinging on sideways. This (understandably) freaked him out, and he made a break for it, right through the rope fence of the collecting ring. She got tangled up in the string and dragged off the horse, who proceeded to gallop into the distance across the xc course!!!! :eek3:

The ambulance came over, there were announcements over the tannoy and everyone rushed to try and catch the horse, who was wandering around on the course. :redface3:

Managed to catch him, sister was mortified and spent about 20 mins sobbing in the trailer, but then brightened up and said "It's nearly my turn to go XC!" :eek3:

Surprisingly, they agreed to let her go. She promised to trot the corners and downhill bits.

She did a lovely clear and came 8th out of over 30!! :eek3: :eek3: :eek3:

She got a lovely big rosette, and has spent the afternoon laughing hysterically.

So that is what happened today. :redface3:

Lol, that made me giggle! Eventers seem to be made out of tough stuff!

Massive well done to your sister, I think I would have just stayed in the trailer sobbing for hours :biggrin3:

Lol me too!!! She said she thought she was going to get strangled by the arena rope. :eek3: I probably wouldn't have got back on for weeks after that!! Crazy child!

Yep the dun!! He's a star, bless him!! We were worried he'd not be able to shift because he's so chunky, but he's definately starting to get the hang of galloping!!! :eek3:

She's fab, just got to convince her to enjoy dressage now.

Awwh thankyou :)

He's got a really good attitude to work, and never gets bored - such a shock compared to darling Pipkin! His flatwork is a bit exuberant but we'll get there eventually! :p
