I know this wont be a big deal to many of you, but my previously non horse OH, who I have been teaching to ride on our new boy, had his first canter yesterday!
OH used to be terrified to even trot, and I cant tell you the arguments we have had about doing rising trot and his position! Think teaching your partner to drive type arguments LOL.
Anyway since we got Beau, he has come on leaps on bounds, mainly because unlike our other horse, Beau is actually big enough for him at 17.3hh, OH is 6ft4, and also because Beau is SO honest and genuine, whereas our other horse just takes the mick out of him!
Please be kind because it is his first ever canter, but I think he has done brilliantly, luckily Beau is such a dude that he took care of all the steering, pace etc.
We werent planning on cantering but the horses are so full of beans at the mo that we decided to let him have a bit of fun and Beau is so safe, well I couldnt ask for more!!
Also, FUNNY pics, OH has yet to obtain chaps and ahem, check out the pics below his cantering vid of his legs after riding. How is that even possible, his leg hairs have kind of balled up into knots LMAO! Poor thing, neeldess to say...Ive ordered him some chaps!
Anyway cantering vid!
