It didn't feel too bad on the yard so friend and I went out for a hack. Wow was it windy, I tend to forget how sheltered my yard is!! We made it back in one piece but it was very exciting.....for the fat ginger one.

Nope, mine just went back out into the field, it hurt my ears just getting them in for breakfast. I’m jumping tomorrow though so was going to give Bodey cob the day off anyway.

I did, I took Charlie out for a Canter around the stubble fields and then I schooled him for 15 minutes. He was very lit up and didn't settle very well (kept calling to the others) but we made it back in one piece. I actually quite enjoyed myself

When I got back to the yard I got Pixie in to give her a groom, the poor little pony has been a bit abandoned lately

It must have missed East Devon! It's cooler today but no wind (yet). Saw it warned on the weather forecast and did put a light weight rug on the filly last night, but so far so good for us here.

I don't pity anyone riding a fresh horse in high winds! Braver than me LOL

I have just moved my youngster and his shettie companion to their winter field and my baby is quite excitable in new fields but was really calm. The shettie who is really quiet usually had a bucking fit dont know if it was the wind or just the excitment of nice grass for him.

Wasn't too bad really with me this morning - it's actually more windy now.

I'm sitting here in the house waiting to go back up to the farm to check him wondering if I should put a rug on.........

Yep, took Max out for a hack, it wasn't to bad at all

. But he did have a snort at the flapping pony eating monsters (Hay/Straw covers) on a farm we hack through. Other than that, he was the best he has been out hacking

Yep, schooled both of mine.
My 11 year old eventer schoolmistress nearly threw me off after spooking at a jump wing that had blown over, and felt like I was riding a stallion

My 4 year old was an angel, jumped a course of showjumps in trot without getting silly and didn't spook at anything!

Somethings not quite right there, lol!

Went on a hack, I rode my 5yo and my friend rode my older horse. Mine was an angel, my friend however was not so lucky he cantered across the roads, was sideways a fair amount and spooked at leaves blowing in front of him - he was a lunatic! I just presumed it would be the other way round as it is usually. They did make it home alive, luckily.

Absolutely not! My normally sane TB was behaving like an idiot on the end of the lead rope so decided discretion was called for and chickened out. Was in two minds anyway as his girth rub from earlier this week is just nicely healed so didn't want to aggravate it. I don't like hacking out when its so windy I can't hear traffic properly.

I schooled my normally chilled 4 year old to comments of "you're brave"

.... nah says I, "just stupid"

She wasn't too bad but the haylage wrapping was making an awful racket that she kept rushing past.
I managed 20 mins before throwing in the towel

Yep, went cubbing,to be fair the wind didn't seem too much of a problem here although it was quite breezy. Me being sat on a pointer on the other hand (or not at one point) was the main problem today!

We went cubbing too, winds weren't too bad but really noticed it when we were galloping into the wind, my eyes were really watering then!

Yep. Tried to do some schooling. My boy doesn't care about high winds. Gave up after 10 mins as he still isn't right. (Ongoing 'issue' that vet, chiro, saddler & I are still investigating.)
