I took Bodey (my coloured below) into the field and did some schooling, it was really lovely in the sun.
As he was a bit ‘up for it’ (it’s doesn’t happen very often) I used it to my advantage and got some lovely canter work. Thought I would as it has dried out nicely and bound to do some showing or dressage on grass sometime soon.

So what did you do?

I escorted my friends youngster out on his first hack today with Hattie. They were good on the road but my mare was naughty in the field

so I took her cantering when we got back to the yard. Then gave her a bath in hope she will stay clean for hunting on Tues

I have!!!!

Was up at the yard by 8.45 am, mucked out then took Jazz in the school. I don't ride him in the school often, but have done so much hacking recently I think he's a bit switched off by it!

Put some side reins on him (between his legs to the bit, rather than to the sadlde) - it took him a while to work out that he could still actually walk forwards (he normally puts his head straight up) but got some fantastic work out of him - very pliable and soft.

I then took the side reins off to see what impression it had made on him, and he turned back into giraffe-horse, but I'm thinking that's a good start?!

I very much doubt she will be still clean by this evening! Hopefully she won't take to much to get clean tomorrow as I need to re hog and do feathers tomorrow.

I haven't even been outside yet!

-3C, frost on the ground. Horses are all upright with heads jammed in the hay rack so no worries.

No riding planned, my shoulder is still making that too uncomfortable to be fun. Off to see some arabs and ponies later on, so if there is an arab I like the look of I may just grit my teeth and ride.

Yep I was out hacking at 7.30. Early on a Sunday morning is my best opportunity to go for a long hack as the roads near my field are very busy so nice and quiet at that time in the morning, my mare was lovely to ride which is a complete change from yesterday when she turned into a complete nutcase.

I can't ride today

Star pulled a shoe off yesterday and is already footsore (only had them on last week) so I can't go for a hack, and I can't ride in the school because he's really uncomfortable schooling at the minute, the back mans coming on Wednesday. I did get out on a lovely 2 hour hack yesterday though, so not all bad

I have; took Ben out in the lorry at 8.30am, met up with a friend and had a fabby hack across fields and tracks
smile.gif

Had a cuppa and kitkat back at the lorry before heading home( ponies had hay and carrots lol)
Turned the ponies out naked, and they all rolled in the only muddy patch!!

bit of flat work and hack round the farm (on sweet but feeling the sun on his back rising 4yrold) Got the first taste of his work slightly more uphil today(OO was v nice)!!!! bless!!! Was glorious and the first ride in a T shirt of the year!!!!! BRING SPRING ON *begs* please*

Three of us went for a hack around the farm then down to the beach for a bit of a leg stretch
smile.gif
Fantastic ride, all the boys enjoyed it and had a good canter over the fields on the way home
grin.gif

I have been for a lovely hack in the sunshine. Then I harrowed all the paddocks so they look really smart now!!
I love days like this
All the horses are naked too, must be so nice for them

Me!

I hacked the old boy for half an hour or so with my friend then took my mare into the school. Am so pleased about the latter I've even had to do a seperate post!

Heaven only knows how I'll ride all three every weekend now though.

I had the best morning ever!!

So....had some amazing off road hacking, jumping ditches banks and a PICNIC TABLE!!!!

Then a gallop along a mile long beach and cool off in the breaking waves, surfers giving us funny looks!
productive flatwork schooling session i think not but fun, YES!
AND i got asked would i like to event him next autumn!
he hunted twice towards the end of season and is a little eh...forward going!
field master owns him that who i went out with this morn hence the crazy jumping, havnt jumped in a year due to new non horsy business. cant believe how much i missed it!
wish i had pics....

I hacked out a horse at work this morning and then went to see my boy and gave him a bath and he is now out naked
smile.gif
. Can't ride him until tomorrow because of back lady's orders!!

I was really brave this morning and took my girl up a main road that I normally avoid because there are too many lorries & tractors on it.

We met nothing bigger than a transit van, then did a circular ride on a bridlepath and back along the main road again before getting onto another bridle path to go home.

We had a fantastic ride, the weather was gorgeous and I didn't want to get off, but the girlie was a bit sweaty and needed to roll so I had to

My OH is on call this weekend, so woke at 6am because his phone was ringing. Took one look out of the window to see the first rays of light coming through with the promise of a lovely morning, so got up and drove to yard, fed and mucked out two and was on my boy for 7.30 for a lovely hack on the Ox Drove which was fab. It's days like this which make all the mud, snow, ice, dark and general winter blues all worthwhile, just to be out on a fit and healthy horse with spring in the air. Bliss!

I had arranged to ride but hurt my back at work yesterday so am unable to do chuff all today
frown.gif

Spent a while down the stables in the sunshine though and am going to work on the YO later to see if she will let the horses stay out tonight
laugh.gif
They are loving the warmer weather and longer days and are not happy about coming in, so hopefully they can stay out for a day or two until the temps drop again mid week

I too had lovely ride in the sun this morning. Our hacking restricted to lanes pretty much until the ground dries out more (we are on clay round here) but we went through the National Trust property in Horsmonden which is hard surfaced but at least off road. Horses were fab and it is so great to see the countryside waking up and everything coming into life again. Turned them out naked and they are stuffing grass with the sun on their backs. I love this time of year. Mind you, very envious of those of you who have posted about beach rides and cantering round fields. Bliss!!

I rode this moring, and must make a mental note to get out earlier (or later) to avoid day trippers!!!! after dancing around in the middle of the road in front of many bemused people.
Damn motorbikes spooking my ned
