So, we did yet another workup on the big man yesterday - ongoing issues since a 2yo. And this time we found;
Possible narrowing at c5/6
Major change to right hock
Structural issues front right hoof (plus an abscess)
The neck x rays are off to Edinburgh for a 2nd opinion but I'm not optimistic. I'm half shocked, half vindicated as I've had a gut feeling about wobblers since day one. He is the loveliest, most trainable, most affectionate big horse you could find. He gets comments about his looks wherever he goes. I bought him as a foal, backed him myself and hoped he would see me into my 50's. To avoid the behaviour issues and soundness issues which can come with a ready made horse. Well, we got to 6 and he's been everything - except sound. I was even hoping it might have been pssm! Not to be. I can't even think about putting a bullet into that handsome head at the moment. I'm 40 next week; happy birthday eh?
Sorry, I just had to write it down somewhere.
