I've got two ponies at home with two paddocks, both are perfect weight and in all fairness the nf is a little overweight. The paddock I've them on is some grass but not great bare in patches but has a good covering in other parts, so grass to be eaten.
I've not put them in other paddock cause they are holding their weight well and don't want lami
I was in work when my hubby text me to say one of the neighbour had been informed that they will report the boys for not having enough grass.
I have a public pathway between paddocks and oh knows nothing about horses.
He has now moved them over on to the lush winter grazing, he thought he was doing right and I explained to him why I didn't want them on lush grass.
I understand that non horsey people don't get lami etc but its just so frustrating that I know the boys are a good weight if not a bit over and I come home after a 14 hr shift to have to explain that if they get fat there is a risk of lami which I really don't want,
I know this is a pointless thread just a pain in the a@@@ I did ask my neighbour what she thought of the boys condition before telling her anything and she said considering their weight I would do what your doing bare grass and if need be soacked hay in paddock when the grass that's there has gone.
