Hi everyone, just need to get a few things off my chest really as I'm very bored!
I have seen/read so many incompetent things recently I cannot stand it any more! I am by no means an expert and I dont claim to be.
The one that has tipped me over the edge is the following off Facebook:
OP: So I bring my horse in from the field on Friday night and he's lame. I gave him a couple of bute and by morning he looked better so I chucked him out. Saturday night he comes in lame again, so I gave him my last 2 bute and chucked him back out as im away until Monday. Went up today and he's really lame on both fronts. Both feet have heat and he's shuffling. If he's no better by Wednesday ill call the farrier as i'm guessing an abcess??
A: then there is a ton of replies stating laminitis/vet/emergency/take off grass etc.
OP: I doubt very much its lami as horse is 15.3.
A:Why on earth does that matter??
OP: He's not a pony
A: Cue more responses telling this girl to call the vet
OP: I know my own horse and it isnt laminitus (argh hate it when people spell it like this!) He's 15.3, not overly fat and only been out in the field since Wednesday!!! How can it be????? I'll get the farrier to come at the weekend and dig the absesses out.
I stopped looking after reading that!
I have seen so many stupid things this week that I wont put on here in case people involved read, but my goodness I just want to throttle some people this week!
Sorry for the rant, just needed to let off some steam x
