Somebody please buy this guy.

He's really, really lovely but incredibly cheap, suspiciously so. Even at his original price he's less than I'd expect for a horse like this in the market as it is currently.
Ad implies they've not ridden him at all and I can't help but wonder why. (Maybe he's been injured and needed time away?)
And that can be asked on a phone call. ?

I bought a GP bred dressage horse reduced from £15k to £10k immediately before Christmas 10 years ago because the seller could not meet his December mortgage payment without the sale. These things happen.
.

Yes but nearly half price and as someone said he was cheap at the original price, similar are going for so much more unseen. My first thought was has he just failed a vetting.

I take the point, but only £1700 reduction versus £5k and he's open to another vetting.

I don't think £3.5k for an unbroken 3 year old was cheap. He's not got spectacular breeding or it would be mentioned. Mum probably even pulled a cart :)

If you google the number and name, you get some text off another advert that ends 'Please no time wasters or tyre kickers this is a really tough decision'...

Though ad is in Penzance not Dorset and no longer exists and possibly looks like a fairly typical Google mixup?

Not sure, this is what I got, literal copy and paste:

Annie, 14.3hh Riding Mare - Horse for sale in Penzance
Please no time wasters or tyre kickers this is a really tough decision. Price: £4,000 £3,500 ono. Location: Dorset. Contact: Rhiannan. Phone: 07904 038434.-'

May not mean anything, but it's a seller moving through horses and I'm a cynical old bat.

It's a bigger % of the overall price.

There are some very ordinary horses going for that sort of money and more atm, the ones with breeding are silly money. And he was apparently backed at the breeders, alot would sell as broken.

However at price, worth a shot if he would pass a vetting,, an old splint wouldn't be a fail as long as the vet thought it wasn't likely to cause a problem.

Been on the market at an even higher price for over 2 months on preloved. Very unusual not to sell in that time frame in today's market.

Yes, that's suspicious and I didn't know that. But there is a very limited market for unbroken 3 year olds.

Penzance is a long way from Dorset for a seller to have 2 bases!
.

I can always go look at him for someone.

I've done a bit of FB stalking - the owner was looking for livery for 2 horses not far from me in oct. She is also having a 'clear out' and has lots of rugs and odd and ends for sale. Sold her olympia tickets. Her other horse she has at livery is a 17.2hh 4yr old clydesdale - she is currently advertising for a sharer for him. He is just backed.

I think she has 1 or 2 youngsters (yearlings) too but looks like they are turned out somewhere.

She seems quite young (just an observation)
