Was with ponies this afternoon, and they were having a mad 5 minutes, the small thing (11 month old gelding, v nervous of people who I've only had for a month) galloped flat out up field, and realised couldn't stop in time at last minute, and decided to jump fence. Didn't quite clear it, and took out top strand of electric rope, and proceeded to gallop wildly around track round fields. Before I had a chance to catch big one (4 year old), he swiftly followed over now slight destroyed fence. Am so pleased I was there when it happened...
I went into minor panic mode, as fields border a very busy road frequented by a lot of very fast, big vehicles. Small thing let me catch him (thank god) as did big one. Amazingly no cuts or swelling on Small thing. Had to borrow friend's field while made emergency repairs to field.
I checked them about 2 hours later, to see that they were both still where they should be (fortunately they were). Small Thing still looked ok, no swelling or anything.
I am now seriously paranoid that they won't be there in the morning, so please reassure me that Small Thing will have learnt his lesson and they will both will be in their field when I go to see them tomorrow!!
