Our two shetlands are kept in a field down the road from mossburn, quite near a busy main road but not right next to it.
Ok so Wednesday night YO gets woken up by two people banging the door to say they've just narrowly missed a shetland pony on the road.
Cue a mad rush trying to get them off the road which they were tearing up and down on. It was about midnight so luckily not much traffic but still very scary.
It must have been horrible for YO at that time on her own trying to catch them. We rescued Tommy from a shed he'd been locked in for months with hardly any food and water and so he hates being touched and we can only get him to go anywhere by following Breezer. So YO had to catch Breezer then try and get Tommy to follow. She said she was really close to calling the police to help round him up because there were still cars.
Thank god the people who nearly hit Tommy were so nice and came up to get YO!
Now first thought was they'd gotten out through fencing but their gate was wide open!
Then Thursday the person who went to feed them was met by them coming up the lane, the gate open again, and Thursday afternoon, Tommy was out, but the gate was shut
We have no idea why anyone would let them out, we have our suspicions who, but no proof.
For now they've been brought up to Mossburn and are in with the other horses.
We're just glad neither of them got hurt, stupid idiots letting two BLACK shetlnads out on the road in the middle of the night
